Jensen stared straight at her, as if he could see right through every secret she hid.

The local downtown hospital was always crowded. She hurried to the ward and saw her father lying in bed with his arm wrapped in bandages. Luckily, his injuries did not seem too

severe.

Marvin looked surprised the moment he saw her. “Nina? Why did you come back all of a sudden?”

“I couldn’t keep such a thing hidden from our daughter,” Esther said as she tended to Marvin. “Don’t worry too much, Nina. It’s just some minor scrapes. I texted you not to rush back. Why didn’t you listen?”

“Dad, how did this accident even happen out of nowhere?”

Sam had worked as their family driver for decades and had never caused any traffic incidents before. No one expected him to get into trouble this time.

“A car suddenly cut in front of us out of the blue. Even Sam couldn’t react in time. Thankfully no one got badly hurt. We heard the other driver was drunk and driving recklessly in broad daylight.”

A frown settled on Nina’s face.

“Have they arrested the person who caused the crash?”

“The police have taken him into custody. He will face detention charges and has to cover all compensation fees.”

Standing outside the ward, Jensen heard every word they said and knitted his brows tightly. He immediately dialed Kent’s number and spoke in a cold voice, “Contact the local police station in Linholt, look into the full details of this accident, and gather all personal information on the culprit. Get it done as fast as possible.”

“Understood, sir.”

Jensen stayed outside and did not step into the room..
