Nina followed Jensen upstairs and spoke up, “This isn’t SAT season anymore. You don’t have to pop quiz me on my work.”
“I promised your parents I’d teach you how to run a business, and I intend to keep that responsibility,” Jensen replied. “If you spend all this time learning from me yet end up knowing nothing, how am I supposed to explain myself to them?”
There was no denying how solid his professional skills were. Even though she had only stayed around the Grey Group for a short while, she had truly picked up plenty of practical knowledge from him.
They soon reached his bedroom. Nina’s eyes fell on his spotless desk, where only a few well- worn old books lay. They looked as if they had been flipped through countless times. She was just about to lean in to check the titles when Jensen reached out and put them away. He then set a laptop right in front of her. “This is what you need to study. We’re in a digital age now. You don’t have to do all calculations by hand.”
Nina mumbled casually, “You must have gone through top-tier elite training at the Grey Group right after graduating high school, haven’t you?”
“I have.”
“What kind of training did they put you through?”
“Things you could never imagine.”
Jensen tapped the side of her head lightly with a book. “Stop chattering and focus on your work.”
“Jensen! Why do you always pat my head like this?” Nina rubbed her head in discontent.
He had loved doing that back in their school days, and he still hadn’t changed the habit.
“Smart minds get nurtured this way. Start working on the questions. I’ll check your answers in thirty minutes.”
“Thirty minutes only?”
“Got a problem with that?”
“I won’t be able to finish them all in time.”

“If not, you’ll keep practicing late tonight. Besides, these questions are all written by me personally. You won’t find any answers online.”
“You really are something.”
Jensen picked up a book and settled down on the sofa nearby. Nina had no choice but to open the laptop and look over the assigned tasks.
Staring at the questions, her thoughts drifted back to their high school years. Right after she got a second chance at life, she had forgotten almost all her school knowledge. When Jensen first started tutoring her, he had been shocked to find how shaky her basics were, even struggling with many easy freshman-level lessons.
To help her boost her grades efficiently, he had compiled exclusive practice materials himself. He arranged exercises in gradual difficulty, sorting them out like clear logic guides to lead her to grasp tougher knowledge step by step.
Years had passed, yet he still kept this habit. Even the digital questions were arranged from easy to advanced levels, ranging from basic industry know-how to complex practical problem-solving tasks.
Nina hesitated and asked softly, “When did you make all these questions?”
“It doesn’t matter when I finished them. What counts is whether you can master them well,” Jensen spoke in a calm tone. “You’ve got twenty-five minutes left. Don’t waste the effort I put into drafting these tasks.”
Hearing that, Nina held back further questions and concentrated on finishing the content earnestly.
Compared with tricky high school math problems, learning business management was far easier. Still, a qualified company manager had to understand financial statements and legal contracts, keep a clear grasp of market trends, and arrange staff schedules in the most efficient way possible.
The questions Jensen listed looked simple on the surface, yet they held countless possible solutions. To work out the most proper reply, one had to think thoroughly from all angles.
As time ticked by steadily, Nina finally finished the last question and turned to him. “I’m all done!”
Jensen glanced down at his wristwatch. “It took you thirty-five minutes.”
“I spent five minutes chatting with you along the way.”

“That’s five minutes you owe me. I’ll deduct that time from your next practice session.”
“Can’t you cut me some slack?”
“A strict mentor brings out outstanding pupils.”
He walked over toward the laptop. Since there was only one chair by the desk, Nina stood up and sat down on the bed beside it instead.
Noticing the bed and furniture which looked exactly the same as those in her own room, she asked curiously, “How did you decorate this room to match mine perfectly?”
“Money makes everything possible. It’s nothing hard to get a few identical furnishings. Even recreating your entire home is well within my reach.”
