Chapter 250 It Was a Lie

Chapter 250 It Was a Lie

Having spent quite a long time by Jensen’s side in the past, Nina knew full well he was never the type to make promises lightly.

Back when he had believed something had happened between himself and Audrey, he had truly intended to marry her and take full responsibility.

Still, he might stay misled for a while, yet he would not stay in the dark forever.

The moment he found out the truth, he had distanced himself clearly from the whole mess tied to the Grey family.

“Even if everything you said holds true, what will outsiders think of the two of you? No one knows the full story behind all this,” Esther spoke earnestly with a worried look.

“Nina, do you really want everyone around you to label you a homewrecker?”

Within their narrow social circle, word would spread like wildfire in just a few days, leaving her stuck with that bad reputation.

Jensen spoke up firmly, “Mrs. Tann, if I fail to give Nina a proper answer within three days, I am willing to offer everything I have to make it up to her.”

Nina was caught off guard hearing such serious words.

“Very well, mark your words.” Marvin’s tone turned stern. “If you ever let Nina suffer even the slightest grievance, I will not let you get away with it.”

With that said, he turned and headed upstairs.

Esther glanced back and forth between Nina and Jensen, shook her head helplessly, then followed her husband upstairs as well.

“Jensen, do you have any idea how bold your words just now were? Even if you wanted to help me out, there was no need to go this far.” Nina looked at him with a hint of blame in her

eyes.

“Who said I was just messing around?” Jensen asked calmly.

“But what you said earlier…”

“I might use you as a shield to block unnecessary troubles, but I will never let you get branded as the other woman. Every word I spoke just now was sincere.”

“What exactly do you plan to do then?” Nina frowned.

“You aren’t actually going to hold a press conference just to clarify everything about Audrey, are you?”

“That is exactly what I intend to do.”

Nina stared at him in surprise. “You’re really set on doing this?”

“I am.”

you and

“If you go through with it, there will be zero chance left for you two to reconcile. You’ll end up locking horns with the entire Beaumont family. Don’t come regretting it later.”

“I have no regrets at all.”

Nina looked utterly confused. “I truly cannot figure out why you are pushing things this far.”

“You don’t get it?”

“I don’t.” Nina shrugged lightly. “Don’t all men put personal interests above everything else? I thought you would never choose to fall out with the Beaumonts, not even for the sake of the Grey family’s future.”

“I am nothing like other men. Career gains and benefits do matter to me, yet there is always someone who means far more than any profit.”

Jensen fixed his gaze steadily on her. Seeing that she still failed to catch his hidden meaning, he spoke in a soft steady voice.

“I will hold the official press conference tomorrow. Stay home and avoid going out casually these days. I’ve already arranged guards around your residence to keep you and your parents safe and sound.”

He then rose to his feet, ready to take his leave.
