Nina noticed that Katrina and Chase had switched back to matching couple profile pictures- and were openly showing off their relationship on Instagram.

In the classroom, a few students were whispering among themselves. The moment Nina walked in, the chatter stopped. Everyone looked at her with strange expressions.

She found it odd but didn’t react, simply returning to her seat.

Tara walked over and stopped in front of her. “Nina, be honest–where did you get your plastic surgery done?”

“Plastic surgery?”

“If you didn’t have work done, how did you suddenly get so pretty?” Tara let out a mocking laugh. “Stop pretending. Someone in our class saw you at a cosmetic clinic. You even had liposuction, right? Honestly, you’ve really gone all out just to win Chase over.”

Nina almost laughed at how confident Tara sounded. “Who told you I had liposuction? And who said I went to a cosmetic clinic?”

“That’s not the point! Someone saw you–that’s enough,” Tara shot back, completely self- assured. “Nina, let me make one thing clear. Chase and Katrina are very close. Stop trying to get involved with him!”

After being provoked again and again, Nina didn’t hold back. She stood up and said with a smile, “Tara, do you realize that spreading rumors and slander in public can have legal consequences?”

“I’m not spreading rumors. Everything I said is true! We all know now–at Mountain Resort, when Chase didn’t show up, it was because you interfered. Nina, you have no shame! You even called his family behind his back and tattled on him, causing a misunderstanding between him and Katrina. How did our class end up with someone as underhanded as you?”

Tara’s voice rang out so loudly that not only did the entire class hear her, but students from outside gathered at the doorway to see what was going on.

“Tara, stop it!”

Watching Katrina put on that innocent, conciliatory act, Nina was reminded of her past life.

Katrina had always played the same role in front of Chase.

Back then, when Nina’s two children had said a single word about Katrina being fake and manipulative, Chase had slapped them in public.

Later, for Katrina’s sake, he had even caused the death of their child.

Nina’s voice turned cold. “Katrina, don’t you get tired of putting on this act?”

“Nina… what are you talking about? Do you have some kind of misunderstanding about me?”

Katrina looked hurt by the accusation. She stepped forward and grabbed Nina’s hand. “I know being with Chase must have hurt you, and I’m sorry. But feelings can’t be forced. I hope you can accept reality… we can still be good friends.”

The words made Nina sick. She yanked her hand free in disgust.

Katrina staggered back, nearly falling. Tara rushed forward to steady her. “Nina! That’s too much! Katrina was trying to make peace, and you actually shoved her?”

“Let’s not play games,” Nina said flatly. “Katrina, you’re the one who spread those rumors about me, aren’t you?”

Katrina shook her head frantically. Tara shot Nina a glare. “What rumors? Katrina saw everything herself! If you did it, own up to it. She hasn’t even blamed you for interfering with her and Chase, and you’re the one coming here to accuse her? And don’t forget–you already have Jensen, yet you’re still hung up on Chase. Have you no shame?”

Nina’s eyes narrowed dangerously. “What did you just say?”

“What, am I wrong?” Tara shot back. “You and Jensen aren’t exactly innocent either. We all saw him pick you up last time—are you really going to deny that you’ve been living together? And someone like you had the nerve to report Chase and Katrina to the teacher for an inappropriate relationship? Calling you shameless is already being nice!”
