The Rejected True Heiress (Liora and Callum) novel Chapter 187

“Ooh.” Zane, suddenly having appeared out of nowhere, vaulted over the back of the couch and landed beside me. “Gonna send your goons after Liora now, Bianca? That’s low, even for you.”

“I’m not a goon,” freckles said. “I’m a supporter of the princess. I actually have some decorum, unlike the King’s whore over here!”

“She’s not a whore! That whole scandal was made up by Bianca!” Mia appeared in the doorway, holding onto the frame for support while her injured ankle dangled in the air. “Bianca’s the whore! She cheated on Callum with some random guy at a motel!”

“I most certainly did not.” Bianca’s eyes flashed dangerously, like she might lose her control at any moment. “In fact, it was Liora who stalked me, hiding in my car trunk, so she could frame me!”

The onlookers gasped. “That’s sick, Liora!” Darian shouted. “Twisted! Fucking stalker!”

“Yeah, well, at least she found out the truth!” someone else chimed in. “Liora’s right; Bianca’s supposed to be a princess, our princess, but she doesn’t act like one at all. She cheated on Callum! The same guy who’s out there right now, helping look for those missing girls!”

“They’re right!” another student , one of Callum’s friends, added. “Callum has been spending all his free time helping search for the rogues ever since the concert. And what does Bianca do? She starts shit in the common room like some kind of gossip monger. Don’t you have anything better to do, Bianca?”

“Don’t speak to her like that!” freckles shouted, rushing across the room to give him a shove. The student who just spoke stepped out of the way, causing freckles to crash into the wall, cracking her glasses.

Chaos ensued after that. Voices rose into a din, all shouting at once. Half the room seemed at odds with the other, all yelling and shoving and saying horrible things about the opposing side at the same time.

I clutched my hair, cursing under my breath. I never meant for it to come to this. Everyone was pushing and shoving and fighting, and we were going to have a repeat of the concert.

Flashes of that night replayed in my mind. I saw myself getting trampled, felt the crowd pressing in on me from all sides. I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t breathe!

“ENOUGH!”

The room fell silent as if a switch had been flipped. Students froze. Darian’s hand hovered midair just before he punched Zane. Freckles still held the vase over her head.

Callum stood in the doorway, chest heaving. His nostrils flared as he slowly looked around the room. At me. At Zane and his friends. At Bianca and hers.

There was blood all over the front of his shirt. Blood that hadn’t been there before.

Without a word, he shoved through the crowd and retreated to his dorm. Everyone flinched at the sound of the door slamming.
