The Rejected True Heiress (Liora and Callum) novel Chapter 388

Now, Liora was saying that she wasn’t the real princess. That she was an imposter.

What if that was true?

The thought made me shudder. I loathed to think that I had been fooled for so long, but now I wasn’t so sure.

I wanted the truth. All of it. I just wanted to know.

“Bianca.” I set aside her water glass and stood, crossing over to the window. Outside, I could see students moving around the quad. A couple of guys were kicking a hacky-sack around while some girls had a picnic on the grass nearby. The way they were all allowed to feel so carefree while I felt trapped in a cage made me more bitter than I wanted to admit.

“Yes?”

“Can I ask you something?”

Bianca shifted a little on her throne of pillows. “Please don’t tell me this is about what she said.” She looked at the wall, jaw clenching. “I can’t even say her name.”

I turned to her. Studied her.

“Bianca, I’m with you now. You’re pregnant with my child, and I’m not going anywhere.”

She glanced at me out of the corner of her eyes. “You mean that?”

“Yes.” I swallowed hard, forcing my wolf back down just as his frustration began to build. “But I just want to know the truth. That’s all. Are you really who you say you are? Are you the princess I was betrothed to?”

Bianca whipped her head toward me, eyes flashing. “What’s that supposed to mean? You’re not siding with her, are you?”

“No. Yes. I don’t know.”
