The Rejected True Heiress (Liora and Callum) novel Chapter 387

Callum’s POV

Bianca was crying and trembling by the time I got her back to her room.

“I don’t understand why she would say such a thing!” she wailed, clinging to my neck so hard her nails dug into my skin. “It’s not fair, and it’s not true!”

“Shh. It’s alright.” I laid her down on her bed and hissed through my teeth as her nails dragged across my throat. “Just rest for now, okay? And try not to think about it.” I pulled back.

“Wait!” Bianca grabbed my wrist just as hard as she’d held my neck. “Where are you going? You’re not allowed to leave me!”

“I’m just going to get you some water.”

“Oh.” Bianca relaxed her grip on me and laid back against her pillows with a sigh.

I straightened, moving to the bathroom to fill a glass. I grabbed the wastebasket just to be safe, which wound up being a good choice, because Bianca promptly snatched it away, rolled over to the edge of the bed, and threw up into it before I even sat down.

My jaw clenched as I watched her throw up. I knew I should comfort her somehow, so I rubbed her back in halting circles, occasionally flinching whenever she gagged into the trash can.

When she was finished, she laid back on the bed with a huff, nearly dropping the can on the floor. I caught it in time and grimaced at its contents before setting it aside.

“Here.” I helped her sit up and propped some pillows up behind her back, then handed her the water. “Sip that. You need to keep your fluids up.”

“Oh, thank you.” Bianca took the glass and just barely sipped from it. “Gods, this morning sickness is unbearable. And she didn’t help any just now.”
