I tipped my head back and to the side, baring the curve where my neck met my shoulder.
His throat bobbed. His gaze came back up to mine, and the question in it was plain. He wouldn’t ask it out loud. He didn’t need to.
I reached up and tangled my fingers into his hair, gently, and drew his head down toward my throat.
“It’s all I’ve wanted for a long time,” I whispered.
His breath shook out of him once as if bracing himself. When his lips pressed against my skin, they were soft, almost reverent.
His teeth followed.
There was one bright flash of pain.
And then the world went gold.
The bond detonated. Heat tore through me from the mark outward, down my spine, through my ribs, all the way out to my fingertips, and riding in behind it came everything that was him. His love hit me first—the sheer size of it, a year of it, dammed up and finally let loose all at once. And then his awe. His relief. The fear he’d been carrying for weeks, dissolving away like mist in the morning air.
My wolf keened, wrapping around his in a spectral embrace. I felt their tandem shudders work through me, and then Callum was inside of me. I didn’t know when it happened, nor did I care. All that mattered was the feeling of my inner walls stretching and pulsing around him at the same time as our own heartbeats finally humming in perfect harmony.
We’d made love before. It was nothing new, even if every time we did it felt like a dream. But this was different. This was something out of this world entirely.
As we moved together, hips twisting, chests pressing, lips parting, I swore it was like every touch had a color. His hands at my hips, fingers digging into the flesh of my ass and thighs, burned a bright, hot amber. His mouth at the fresh mark sparked a blinding white behind my eyes, so bright I couldn’t see.
The bond caught each sensation, doubled it, and sent it back until I couldn’t tell where my body ended and his began. I felt his pleasure stacked on top of my own, felt my name shudder through his chest, felt the exact second his control slipped.
