The moment Julian was discharged from the hospital, his first stop was The Grandview Residences.
Ever since Julian discovered his wife's infidelity, Vanessa had sent him countless messages. He hadn't replied to a single one, nor had he visited.
When he suddenly pushed the door open that evening, Vanessa froze for a second before throwing herself at him in joyous surprise.
"You're here!" She wrapped her arms tightly around his waist. "I missed you."
Julian peeled her hands away. Without bothering to take off his shoes, he walked straight over to the sofa and sat down.
Vanessa was confused. Wasn't he here to sleep with her?
She followed him over.
Julian gestured to the opposite sofa. "Sit."
Sensing that something was deeply wrong, Vanessa tried to sit beside him anyway. Julian's brow furrowed, and he tilted his head, motioning for her to take the opposite seat.
Too afraid to defy him, she sat across from him, her heart in her throat.
"Did you send those photos to my wife?"
His tone was deadly calm. Startled, Vanessa rushed to answer, "Julian, I—"
He cut her off. "When did you send them?"
Panic set in. "I... it was when you two were fighting."
His gaze burned into her. "You sent them before we fought."
Vanessa's breath hitched. She dropped to the floor beside his legs, scrambling to explain. "No, Julian, I swear—"
"She showed me the photos and the messages."
"Julian, I was wrong. I was just so jealous of her. I never meant for things to escalate like this."
