The Rose He Showed Off Is Putting Down Roots in a Garden of Her Own novel Chapter 201

Zane Whitaker sat at his desk, unable to focus on the documents in front of him.

Jasper Yale, who had come in to deliver files, jumped when Zane suddenly stood up. "What are you doing?"

"I need to step out for a bit," Zane said, already heading for the door.

Jasper instantly got annoyed and chased after him. "You won't let me leave, but you're running off on your own."

"Are you going to look for Mrs. Sterling?"

"Can you have a little self-respect for once?"

Bang! The office door slammed shut, cutting off Jasper's incessant nagging.

Zane drove straight to Vance Properties.

As he stepped into the elevator, he suddenly realized this was a terrible idea.

Anyone could tell Elara Vance that Julian Sterling's mistress was pregnant, but it couldn't be him.

Given his position, he would come off as gloating, way too eager to deliver the bad news.

Alright, he was definitely a little too eager right now.

Zane hesitated, realizing he shouldn't do this. He immediately pressed the down button, intending to go back to his car and think it over.

But the elevator doors slid open.

It was Elara, just returning from outside.

They bumped right into each other.

Elara hadn't expected to see him in her elevator. For a second, she wondered if she had accidentally walked into the Whitaker Group building.

"Mr. Whitaker?"

Zane cleared his throat. "Hello, Ms. Vance."

"Did you need something?"

Of course he needed something.

But he couldn't exactly blurt out that her husband's mistress was knocked up.

"Well... I wanted to discuss the capital injection with you."

He had found his excuse.

Elara nodded and led him into her office.

To her shock, the moment the door clicked shut, Zane leaned in and kissed her. Caught completely off guard, she gasped.

"What are you doing?" she demanded.
