The Rose He Showed Off Is Putting Down Roots in a Garden of Her Own novel Chapter 284

Chief Beck was unamused. "The second you two got into trouble, you should have called me."

Call him first?

They had sneaked out to hire male escorts for a wild night. Even if all hell broke loose, how could she possibly make that phone call?

Beatrice gave an awkward smile. "I know, I know. Tell Olivia I said hi, and tell her that after the wedding in a couple of days, us girls need to get together for a proper catch-up."

Olivia Beck was Chief Beck's wife and Bianca Blanchard's biological aunt.

Before Chief Beck could reply, two more men strode through the front doors.

Both Beatrice and Elena froze. Great. Now their older brothers were here.

The man walking in front immediately started scolding them. "Bibi, you are entirely too reckless! And dragging Ellie into this mess with you!"

Arthur Prescott was notoriously strict.

Elena quickly tried to take the blame.

"Arthur, it's my fault. I'm the one who hasn't seen much of the world, and I begged Bibi to take me out to have some fun. Please don't yell at her."

Arthur knew exactly what his sister was like.

"Ellie, stop letting her boss you around. She's a terrible influence on you."

Beatrice crossed her arms defensively. "I'm a grown woman. I can do whatever I want. Stop trying to control my life."

"You know you're a grown woman, and yet you still pull stunts like this? What self-respecting woman your age behaves this way?"

"Well, if Silas wasn't constantly pissing me off, I wouldn't have to go out looking for a good time, would I?"

Arthur knew his sister was just deflecting. "Stop trying to pin this on Silas. I've already called him. He's on his way."

Beatrice panicked.

"Why did you have to tell him?"

"He has no right to interfere in my life!"

"I make my own decisions!"

Beatrice stubbornly argued back, clearly guilty, while Elena cast a timid glance at her own brother.
