The car happened to pass by The Sapphire Lounge, the very club where Elara had been hauled off to the police station. Because Zane was with her, she felt a little too awkward to get out. "Zane, I'll wait for you in the car," she said.

"Would you like some red wine?" he asked.

Elara nodded.

-

Sebastian happened to be there as well. Seeing Zane walk through the doors, he called out, "Zane."

"Grab me two bottles of red wine and a couple of glasses."

Sebastian glanced out at the car parked by the entrance. It belonged to Mrs. Sterling.

He followed Zane toward the bar. "Where are you drinking?"

Zane thought for a moment. "Down by the lake. We can take a walk. Too many prying eyes in here."

Sebastian was speechless. "Come on, don't drag my place down just to lift yourself up. How is this not more private than some public lake?"

"You expect me to bring her to the same place you hire those escorts?"

Sebastian cursed inwardly. *What escorts? The only person getting hired out is you, right?*

Zane wasn't a heavy drinker, but he knew his vintages. Seeing him exclusively picking out the most expensive bottles, Sebastian offered some friendly advice. "Zane, it's safest to drink at home." He knew Zane had a massive wine cellar.

"You want me to take another man's wife home in the middle of the night for a drink? You think that's appropriate?"

*So you do know she's someone else's wife!*

Sebastian didn't dare voice his frustration, so he settled for, "Maybe a little inappropriate, but isn't a drunken slip-up exactly what you're hoping for?"

"Watch your mouth. She isn't divorced yet. That would make us homewreckers."

Sebastian thought, *Your intentions couldn't be more obvious if you painted them on a billboard.*

Zane finally settled on two outrageously priced bottles.

Sebastian felt the pinch. "Isn't one bottle enough?"

Zane countered, "Won't one bottle make me look a bit cheap?"

Considering Zane's notoriously low tolerance, Sebastian sighed. "Your tolerance is garbage. I'm just worried you'll fall into the lake and ruin the mood. Or worse, you won't fall in, but you'll start spouting embarrassing nonsense."
