How was he supposed to explain this to Elara?
Anything he said would just make him look like a bigger creep.
The delivery driver stepped out of the elevator, jogging back toward the apartment. It was the exact same guy.
"Hey! Get over here!" Zane barked.
The courier jogged over, looking thoroughly embarrassed. "I'm so sorry, man. I got the floors mixed up."
Zane shot him a murderous glare.
The driver offered an awkward, apologetic smile. "The guy upstairs... he's in a real rush... needs it ASAP..."
Fuming, Zane shoved the bag back into the guy's hands.

The next day.
Jasper watched Zane staring blankly into space after finishing the morning's executive meeting.
"Boss, what's wrong with you?"
Zane was agonizing. His mind was spinning on an endless loop. *What does Elara think of me now? Does she think I'm a disgusting hypocrite? A complete pervert?*
Getting no response, Jasper tried a different angle. "Did my sister pay you a late-night visit again?"
Before Zane could even open his mouth, his phone started ringing on the desk.
Zane glared at Jasper. "You cursed it!"
Jasper leaned over to look at the screen. Sure enough, it was his sister.
Zane picked up. "What now?"
"What now?!" a furious woman shrieked through the speaker.
"Did you have explosives for breakfast?"
"Yes! And I wish I could shove them down your throat right now!"
"Let me make one thing very clear," Jocelyn hissed. "If you ever let Harrison Grant set foot in any of your clubs again, I will personally destroy you!"
The Grant family had three siblings: Harrison, Gideon, and Cynthia.
Harrison was the eldest son and Jocelyn's brother-in-law. Unlike Gideon, whose reputation had been carefully ruined by his stepmother, Harrison enjoyed a sterling public image. But behind closed doors, he had a severe wandering eye.
As the saying goes, if you walk by the river long enough, your shoes will get wet.
Harrison had finally pushed his luck too far and got caught red-handed by Jocelyn.
