The Royal Military Academy's Impostor Owns a Dungeon [BL] novel Chapter 1213

Chapter 1213: Mushroom Convention

As far as thoughts went, who knew Imperial nights could feel that long? Depending on who was asked, some would’ve said they desperately wanted the night to end, while others would’ve wished it could last forever.

But like everything else, every respite eventually came to an end, and everyone would soon reap either the benefits or the consequences of their own long, eventful night.

Take Owen Mylor, for example.

According to one overly dramatic little system, the young one was part of the main cast for what promised to be a phenomenal day of filming.

So in the interest of protecting its art, there was a definite need to verify how Owen was doing.

Well, for starters, he woke up feeling like absolute shit.

And that state likely had everything to do with staying up late talking to his older brother and brother-in-law.

Which was why, by the time he reached the arena with the rest of his family, Owen looked less like someone attending his brother’s licensure exam to demonstrate a newly received gift and more like a condemned man being escorted to his public execution.

But just when he thought he was personally surrounded by nothing but dark clouds and bad juju, he reached the waiting room and found several towering men gathered around one table.

To his surprise, every single one of them looked even worse than he did.

Oddly enough, Owen suddenly felt like a much brighter person compared to the genuine cloud of gloom hanging over that table.

He stopped by the doorway, wondering whether he should head over and greet everyone like basic manners dictated or quietly make his escape toward the sunshine-and-rainbows table nearby that looked just a little too cheerful for someone like him who was currently feeling proverbially naked and afraid.

In the end, though, he never got to make a choice.

For in that moment of indecision, Luca Kyros popped out like an all-too-friendly ghost, promptly grabbing him.

"...!"

Much to Owen’s surprise, the golden-eyed cadet was actually wearing glasses.

The youngest Mylor jumped slightly, but Luca still caught him by the arm and immediately started dragging him away, presumably toward where his older brother was waiting before that day’s exam began. Now that he was close enough to get a proper look, Owen couldn’t help but comment,

"I didn’t think you’d need glasses... but I’ve got to say, they look really good on you."

Luca immediately brightened, completely unaware that all the comments he’d been getting since earlier stemmed from just how novel the sight was to everyone else.

While wearing glasses was fairly common back in Tesseris, they were surprisingly uncommon throughout the Empire. Thanks to its advanced medical technology, even eye conditions that many Tesserians still considered difficult to treat had long since become non-issues there, and even more so in the Federation, where eyes were often replaced with cybernetic counterparts.

As a result, most people only wore glasses for fashion, to enhance their vision beyond normal limits as many master mechanics did, or to access their terminals. Then again, there were still people like Theo, who simply liked wearing them as a sort of personal shield and fidget toy.
