The Royal Military Academy's Impostor Owns a Dungeon [BL] novel Chapter 433

Chapter 433: Test Subjects

Well, contrary to popular belief, he was not.

If anything, he was extremely far from tired.

Especially if someone based it on how he’d impaled those A-rank light mechas like they were some kind of target practice.

The most embarrassing part? These people prepared as a group.

They actually strategized before fighting Luca, deciding to start with a heavy mecha whose goal was to drain him of spiritual energy while forcing him into a deadlock before the medium and light mechas could swoop in to ensure victory.

But what deadlock?

All it amounted to was the heavy mecha taking hits like a sitting duck!

Who would’ve thought that Luca would be able to find the vulnerable point of the shield, then repeatedly attack the same spot so accurately that it caused the shield’s integrity to fail?

The distressed heavy mecha pilot couldn’t even run, not when all he focused on was heavy defense!

So Luca didn’t even have to move much.

And, obviously, the plan that didn’t even get started ended up being a total failure.

However, at least the heavy mecha pilot could blame his shield for its inability to withstand attacks.

The medium mecha pilots had it much harder, as Luca wanted to explore different melee weapons so he could try to improve them, too.

It was carnage on the outside as the apparently "deranged" calibrator went around bludgeoning his opponents in different spots.

Meanwhile, D-29 and the calibrator noted that the weapons seemed to have only one use, which he found unfortunate.

For example, when he impaled the volunteer with a lance, he could imagine using something like a drill to continue the breach. Or perhaps adding the ability to use corrosive substances to expedite the battle without requiring as much effort.

But then it’d have to be optional?

Because what if he liked the material a lot? And he’d end up corroding it because all hits would continuously emit corrosive substance?

Won’t that be too unfortunate?

Certainly, that wouldn’t do, right?

Hmm.

There were so many ideas, and he could only be thankful for D-29, who logged all of them.

But while a pair were happily testing and jotting down notes, the people in their individual mechas were experiencing true terror.

They wanted to back out.

They really did. But they had already submitted their names and had been posted on the schedule monitored by their instructor.

So they refrained from looking to the sides where the mechas that needed overhauls were lined up.

Various holes, flattened areas, cracked shields, and so many bent metal plates, all courtesy of that lunatic who kept on changing weapons like he was changing clothes.

Wasn’t he only capable of using those power tools to disassemble?!

Also, it’s somehow shameful that none of them were even dissected. They were just ruthlessly pummeled!

However, the most embarrassing situation probably came when Luca had unfortunately gone through all the A-rank volunteers.

The instructors thought it would be over, but then an unusual person spoke up.

"Luca," came a voice that was deeply familiar to one person.

Ouch. It was like an innocent slap, jab, and kick to the faces of those who succumbed too early that Luca didn’t even have the chance to test any of those.

"Then that won’t do!"

"Sir! May I take a look at his mecha first? I’ll try to calibrate it so he’d be able to get more out of the mecha!"

Instructor Moore looked at his colleague before looking back at Xavier and asking, "Are you okay with your opponent touching your mecha before a spar?"

"I’m fine if it’s him, Sir. He’s just going to take out as much handicap as he can so we’d be able to spar better."

"Handicap?"

"Yes, Sir. If I fight him like this, he’d get bored and likely not get the data he needs."

All of it was outrageous to literally everyone else.

That crazy person wanted to remove the handicap they didn’t even know existed from an S-class mecha so they could fight better?!

What kind of bullshit was that? Thought many of the onlookers who hadn’t fought yet. But to those who apparently "volunteered" and lost, this was, without a doubt, a shadow that would follow them for the rest of their lives.

"Cadet Montclair, I understand, but does he know about your data to be able to calibrate it for you?" Moore asked, slightly disturbed.

"Yes, Sir. If there’s anyone who should know my data, it’s him. He’ll be able to do it."

And the prince wasn’t kidding, for Luca had mountains of data related to him, and even his piloting mannerisms had been filed and logged.

Moreover, Luca could probably calibrate mechas for Xavier faster than he could calibrate mechas for his own use. After all, the budding mecha pilot’s data was new and still showed inconsistencies as he developed his personal fighting preferences, so sometimes he’d stop to make test adjustments.

So, the dutiful calibrator worked with impressive efficiency, resulting in a far better mecha response.

Thus began the disgusting and traumatizing battle of two people who could actually fight.

Shit.
