The Royal Military Academy's Impostor Owns a Dungeon [BL] novel Chapter 951

Chapter 951: One Small Detail

It was also very much like Luca to innovate ways that would accidentally result in an additional income stream.

Like sending out drones that wouldn’t only serve refreshments and pop kernels, but would also covertly scan the crowd for suspicious individuals in the fastest possible time.

In particular, they were looking for similar communication devices used for closed-loop communication, as well as traces of explosives or other forms of bioterrorism agents.

Security would definitely be deployed, of course.

But that was easier said than done when the crowd was expected to be packed because of the polishing competition.

Just imagine how long it would take before someone spotted unusual scans or behaviors in a sea of people.

Too long.

It didn’t matter what the exact number would be, but it would definitely be longer than the amount of time it would take for a swarm of flying drones to sweep through the area.

Honestly, Luca’s first thought had been to hand everything out for free so they could easily track those who refused the snacks.

Not that the guild leader was arrogant about the quality and marketability of their products.

But in the mind of a certified money-grubber, who in the world would refuse something that was free?

No one, right?

Right?

Well, one husband had a strong suspicion about the direction of his wife’s thoughts because Xavier’s nose crinkled slightly in silent horror.

Therefore, such a thing had to be stopped before Luca spiraled any further.

But just as he was about to intervene, his father-in-law suddenly decided it would be better if people paid for his precious son’s goods instead of Luca giving them away for free.

So what did he do?

Well, simple. The well-meaning father simply offered to pay for everything!

Duke Leander even looked proud of his suggestion.

At least until he noticed his precious son’s twitching eye.

Did he say something wrong?

Ideally, no.

In fact, most children would appreciate such a thoughtful gesture.

But in Luca’s mind, a loss of money from any member of his family was still a loss of money for him.

"..."

The Duke was definitely troubled.

Thankfully, before he could follow up with his next idea—which involved generously covering an additional drink for everyone—his terminal suddenly prompted him with a message from someone rather unexpected.

His wolfish son-in-law.

What could Xavier possibly want to say when they were sitting right across from each other?

Leander frowned slightly as he opened the message.

Then he read it.

And promptly gasped.

"Ahem!" Duke Leander cleared his throat loudly.

The sudden sound drew several eyes toward him, including that of one unsuspecting master mechanic, who had been listening to the meeting with keen interest.

"Well," Leander began cautiously, as though the thought had only just occurred to him, "didn’t the lot of you want to join the polishing competition?"

Master Quinn raised a brow.

"The others have certainly been asking, Your Grace," he answered with a bit of trepidation.

Leander nodded slowly, pretending to think the matter over.
