The Royal Military Academy's Impostor Owns a Dungeon [BL] novel Chapter 951

Chapter 951: One Small Detail

It was also very much like Luca to innovate ways that would accidentally result in an additional income stream.

Like sending out drones that wouldn’t only serve refreshments and pop kernels, but would also covertly scan the crowd for suspicious individuals in the fastest possible time.

In particular, they were looking for similar communication devices used for closed-loop communication, as well as traces of explosives or other forms of bioterrorism agents.

Security would definitely be deployed, of course.

But that was easier said than done when the crowd was expected to be packed because of the polishing competition.

Just imagine how long it would take before someone spotted unusual scans or behaviors in a sea of people.

Too long.

It didn’t matter what the exact number would be, but it would definitely be longer than the amount of time it would take for a swarm of flying drones to sweep through the area.

Honestly, Luca’s first thought had been to hand everything out for free so they could easily track those who refused the snacks.

Not that the guild leader was arrogant about the quality and marketability of their products.

But in the mind of a certified money-grubber, who in the world would refuse something that was free?

No one, right?

Right?

Well, one husband had a strong suspicion about the direction of his wife’s thoughts because Xavier’s nose crinkled slightly in silent horror.

Therefore, such a thing had to be stopped before Luca spiraled any further.

But just as he was about to intervene, his father-in-law suddenly decided it would be better if people paid for his precious son’s goods instead of Luca giving them away for free.

So what did he do?

Well, simple. The well-meaning father simply offered to pay for everything!

Duke Leander even looked proud of his suggestion.

At least until he noticed his precious son’s twitching eye.

Did he say something wrong?

Ideally, no.

In fact, most children would appreciate such a thoughtful gesture.

But in Luca’s mind, a loss of money from any member of his family was still a loss of money for him.

"..."

The Duke was definitely troubled.

Thankfully, before he could follow up with his next idea—which involved generously covering an additional drink for everyone—his terminal suddenly prompted him with a message from someone rather unexpected.

His wolfish son-in-law.

What could Xavier possibly want to say when they were sitting right across from each other?

Leander frowned slightly as he opened the message.

Then he read it.

And promptly gasped.

"Ahem!" Duke Leander cleared his throat loudly.

The sudden sound drew several eyes toward him, including that of one unsuspecting master mechanic, who had been listening to the meeting with keen interest.

"Well," Leander began cautiously, as though the thought had only just occurred to him, "didn’t the lot of you want to join the polishing competition?"

Master Quinn raised a brow.

"The others have certainly been asking, Your Grace," he answered with a bit of trepidation.

Leander nodded slowly, pretending to think the matter over.

Haaay!

The Imperial Prince stared at the file for a good five minutes before covering his face in quiet amusement.

It was a picture of his little chipmunk as a very young toddler.

Luca was wearing a tiny sailor outfit with an oversized hat that nearly swallowed his head as he crawled across the floor on his hands and knees.

Very cute.

And clearly something that could only have been obtained through a very grateful father-in-law.

Xavier shook his head at the unexpected turn of events before sending his own message of thanks.

Naturally, his reply included a photo attachment as well.

Specifically, a random picture of Luca taken at school, the one place the Duke most certainly couldn’t randomly access.

Future records would one day look back at this point as the beginning of the strangest archive ever compiled about a very important individual.

But for the people living in the present, said important individuals were currently far too busy running around like headless chickens to realize it.

__

From receiving a donation of fifty million to asking his good brother Ollie to replace him briefly in the polishing competition—so he could examine the young Princess who had suddenly arrived unconscious inside his space—Luca had already progressed to ensuring the captured terrorists were secured so thoroughly that they had absolutely no way of notifying Prince Eren about the carefully planned tragedy that had ultimately failed to come into fruition.

Frankly, things had been going quite well in his books.

So well, in fact, that the little money-grubber—who had begun to believe that everything was finally winding down—ended up forgetting one crucial but ideally small detail.

Because when the guild leader turned around to see the source of the sudden shrieks coming from the competition area, he was momentarily stunned by the sight displayed on the large screen.

Right beside one very familiar name was a giant 100%.

And who might that name belong to?

Who else but the wonderful Oliver Mylor.

Oops.
