It is Alec.
"What are you doing here?" he asks, clearly taken aback by his ex-girlfriend's sudden appearance.
"What, do you own the place? Am I not allowed to be here?" Tricia rolls her eyes, tossing her hair over her shoulder as she turns to leave. She had intended to head his way, but the sight of him is enough to make her pivot in the opposite direction.
"Hey, why are you running off?" He hurries after her, visibly disgruntled. "Why are you acting like this now?" She bristles with thorns, completely stripped of the gentle, considerate demeanor she once showered on him and his family.
"Like what?" she counters. As long as it is a version of herself he hates, she is more than happy to play the part.
"Why are you so hostile? I think we can sit down and talk."
"Sorry, but we have nothing to talk about. Could you step aside? Stop standing in the way of my career." She has a meeting with a veteran musician today. If things go well, Tara's company might just score another powerhouse talent. Tricia genuinely feels there isn't a single word worth wasting on this jerk.
"Where are you going? Wait, are you working for Tara right now? Why would you lower your standards like that? You might as well come back to the Dennis family. Come back and manage Jade. As long as you say yes, I'll have Lina reassigned immediately."
"How can you say that about Jade?" Alec stares in disbelief. "You used to defend her all the time. You were so good to her. Why are you acting like this?"
"Yeah, well, I was blind back then, and I'm not anymore. I don't even give a damn about you, so who the hell does Jade think she is?" Tricia rolls her eyes again. She had planned to make a graceful exit, but she cannot resist taking one last jab. "Don't you realize you're acting just as pathetic as Evan? You didn't appreciate what you had, and now you delusionally think I'll come running back. Keep dreaming."
"Tricia, I was only trying to help you out for old times' sake," Alec says, furrowing his brow in a desperate attempt to play the considerate gentleman.
