Lana isn't the only one paralyzed by shock. Deanna and her two sons look like their eyes might pop out of their skulls.
"Jade? Why is it you? Why are you in bed with Evan?!" Deanna gasps, her motherly instincts overriding her horror as she scrambles to protect her daughter's dignity. "Oh my god, Jade, put your clothes on before you say another word!"
Deanna quickly turns the men away, giving Jade time to dress. Jade had perfectly anticipated this exact reaction. She isn't scared or anxious in the slightest. She knows that when push comes to shove, her family will always take her side.
Once dressed, Jade sits on the edge of the bed, burying her face in her hands. "Mom... Jake... Alec... I don't know what happened. I just came in here to talk to Evan about something, and he grabbed me. He dragged me into the bed. I fought him, I swear I fought him, but he was too strong. It was like he was drunk or... or out of his mind..."
Her voice trembles violently. She forces tears to spill over her lashes, biting her lip in a picture-perfect display of traumatized innocence. When she reaches the climax of her story, she breaks down into loud, gut-wrenching sobs.
Seeing their precious sister weeping in despair, the Dennis brothers see red. Evan isn't just a man making a mistake; he is a monster.
"You piece of trash! You dare touch Jade? I'll kill you!" Alec, always the most impulsive of the brothers, lunges forward and drives his fist straight into Evan's jaw.
Evan, who had already been slapped by Tara earlier tonight, snaps. The physical pain ignites his own fury.
