Nikolai's heart aches as he watches the broadcast. He desperately wants to comfort Jade, to clear her name, but he is trapped behind a screen, utterly helpless.

"This is completely unacceptable. What kind of older brother is Jake?" Deanna fumes, her voice trembling. "Has he lost his mind? Does he even know what he's saying?"

Seeing Jade's helpless, teary-eyed gaze dart toward Jake on the screen makes Deanna want to march down there and slap her eldest son. Jake used to protect his sister at all costs.
