Unfortunately, the man sitting across from her doesn't take the bait. He shoots her a look of utter disdain and scoffs. "The person I want dead is my dear nephew, not your little thorn in the side. Don't think I don't know exactly what you're trying to pull."
He knows perfectly well how much she hates Tara. He also knows she despises every man in the Dennis family, with the possible exception of Charles. And honestly, even her affection for Charles is likely just a front to mask her utter contempt for him. After all, this woman only has eyes for one person in the world.
"Those two are connected anyway. Why shouldn't we team up? Our endgame is exactly the same," Jovani presses on. She knows her beauty won't work on this man, but she still enjoys flaunting her assets.
She can't make a move herself, and this man conveniently shares her objectives. If she provides the support and he pulls the trigger, she will be fully insulated. Even if the assassination fails, it won't be traced back to her. She has to be careful. Tara's instincts and reflexes are too sharp, and the people helping her are undoubtedly dangerous. She must stay guarded, act with caution, and strike first.
Once successful, she will not only eliminate Tara as a major threat but also clear a massive hurdle for her grand plan. But Jovani is well aware that the man in front of her is no saint. Making a deal with him is like dancing with the devil. With time running out, however, she simply has no other choice. At least they are cut from the same cloth. If she goes down, he goes down with her.
She meets his gaze with unwavering determination and continues, "If we work together, we both get what we want. You have the muscle, and I have the resources. If we coordinate perfectly, the odds of success are extremely high. And once it's done, I can offer you the support you need to cement your status in this circle. You won't ever have to worry about your nephew again."
Knowing he values power and profit above all else, she tosses out the perfect bait. She watches his face intently, searching for the slightest shift in his expression.
