Meanwhile, at the Dennis Estate, Eleanor and Kellen check their phones and see the message. They show no reaction and completely ignore it. If the text had come from anyone else, they might feel a tinge of anxiety, but knowing Jade sent it, they just don't buy a single word.
"I don't understand how my brothers are still so blind, letting Jade play them for fools," Kellen mutters, sipping her tea beside her mother.
"Charles and Deanna are her adoptive parents, and yet she manipulates them with ease. It's a joke to expect the younger generation to see the truth," Eleanor scoffs, her frustration boiling over.
Just days ago, when Charles visited for dinner, she gave him a stern warning about Jade. She demanded the girl move out of the Dennis Estate, arguing that she is old enough to live independently. Unfortunately, Charles refused, claiming it is too cruel to kick her out before she establishes her own family. Eleanor bluntly pointed out that his adopted daughter is far from the innocent angel she pretends to be, but her words fell on deaf ears. At her age, she lacks the energy to argue with him or gather evidence. The conversation ended in bitter silence.
"Why can't they just learn from Jake? He is completely clear-headed now," Kellen says, finding comfort in her eldest nephew's newfound wisdom. At least he is leagues ahead of the others.
"That depends entirely on their own luck," Eleanor replies dryly.
