The Scorned Heiress: No More Mercy novel Chapter 448

Tara and Loretta naturally share a room, while Danny takes a single. Their arrangement is seamless and unspoken. Standing slightly apart, Julianna watches them with a fleeting, unreadable glint in her eyes before walking gracefully to her own assigned room. Her quiet, low-profile demeanor actually draws more attention from the viewers.

On the other side, Jade immediately claims a private room for herself, leaving Nikolai and Evan to share the remaining one.

Nikolai bristles at the setup. He has always slept alone, and being crammed into a tiny space with another man feels suffocating. But the cameras are rolling, and he can't voice his complaints. He desperately wants his own room, but he can't exactly force Jade to sleep in the same room as Evan. Even though they are engaged, doing that on national television would invite intense backlash from the fans, and his parents and brothers would beat him to a pulp.

Evan is equally repulsed by the dingy room, but the silver lining of not being forced to sleep next to Jade offers him a shred of comfort.

Miles away, watching the live broadcast from his screen, Jake lets out a dark, ruthless snort at his idiot brother's misery.

"What are you laughing at?" Alec demands, standing nearby. "Nikolai and Jade are stuck in that awful place, and you think it's funny?" He is already sick with worry seeing his sibling struggle, yet his oldest brother is chuckling.

"What else should I do?" Jake fires back. "If your heart is bleeding so much, why didn't you offer to take Nikolai's place on the show?"

"I..."

"Now you're feeling sorry for her? Did you forget how she completely drained your bank accounts?" Jake sneers, not pulling any punches. "Honestly, you should be breathing a sigh of relief that you aren't the one babysitting her on camera."

Hearing this, Jade rolls her eyes. 'What does an amateur know? You're just a glorified singer.' She holds a deep-seated grudge against Loretta. If it weren't for her and Tara, Jade's lip-syncing scandal would never have been exposed.

She casually drifts away from the group, keeping her head angled away from the cameras as she whispers into her hidden earpiece. "Ready when you are."

It is blatant cheating, but Jade feels not a single ounce of guilt. If she can pull it off without leaving a trace, that's just a different kind of talent, isn't it?

On the other end of the line, Jovani watches the live feed closely, perfectly understanding her daughter's cue. "Don't worry. I'm ready to feed you the answers."
