If you just ignore it, it'll blow over." He genuinely believes the photos are just harmless moments twisted by envious haters trying to ruin their tight-knit sibling bond.

"You think it's really that simple? You absolute idiot! How can you be this clueless?" Furious, Deanna marches forward and violently swats him on the back of the head. Of all the children she brought into this world, Alec is undeniably the most thick-headed. If she weren't so furious, she might just brush it off as him being naive, but right now, she genuinely thinks he is as dumb as a rock. She has no idea where he inherited such stupidity.
