Across town, Garrison’s absence at the estate is completely involuntary. He is currently trapped in a catastrophic nightmare. A massive scandal has just detonated within the Calhoun Corporation.
Calhoun Heights, a highly anticipated real estate development, suffered a catastrophic structural failure before the pre-sales even launched. A construction worker fell during the collapse and is now lying in a hospital bed, clinging to life in a vegetative state. To make matters infinitely worse, the victim’s family has mobilized their entire community, swarming the construction site to demand an astronomical, multi-million dollar settlement. They clearly have inside knowledge of the project's dirty secrets, aggressively threatening to leak evidence of government collusion, widespread embezzlement, and severely compromised building materials to the press. The public outrage is already spreading like wildfire across social media.
The crushing irony is that this is the exact project Garrison had ruthlessly clawed away from Danny’s control just weeks prior.
Inside the sleek, glass-walled boardroom of the Calhoun Corporation, Danny sits at the head of the long mahogany table, radiating absolute dominance. He looks down at his uncle with a gaze sharp enough to cut glass.
"You moved heaven and earth to strip this project from my hands, Uncle Garrison," Danny states, his voice smooth and lethally calm. "You swore you were more than capable of handling it. It hasn't even been a month, and you've managed to completely derail it. What's your next move? Because I am completely out of ideas."
"It was an unpredictable accident! How the hell am I supposed to control that?" Garrison snaps, his face flushed with panicked rage. "And now these greedy lunatics are outside screaming for a payday!"
He had just finalized the lucrative, under-the-table kickbacks with the city regulators. He hadn't even begun to siphon the real money out of the budget before this disaster exploded in his face.
"You are the head of this project," Danny replies, lazily tapping a platinum pen against the table. "You fix it. If you can't, you will have to officially step down from your position."
