Tara narrows her eyes slightly, studying the man sitting across from her. If she and Danny—with all their combined resources—can't unearth a single dark secret, it means Charles is operating on an entirely different level of espionage. His cover is flawless. Someone with that level of meticulous control couldn't possibly be as foolish as he portrays himself to be. How could a man this sharp fail to elevate the company? How could he let Jovani plant so many spies under his nose unless he allowed it to happen?
Charles looks at his daughter, his eyes swirling with a complex mix of helplessness, profound sorrow, and deep concern.
"Your mother's condition has severely deteriorated, and your brother's life is hanging by a thread," Charles says, his voice heavy. "These tragedies are too sudden to be a coincidence. Someone is orchestrating this from the shadows, and I need you to save them."
"Then hire a specialist," Tara replies with a dismissive scoff, though she keeps her gaze locked on him. "The Dennis family has more than enough money to buy the best medical care in the world."
She finds the request almost laughable. Someone orchestrating this from the shadows? Obviously, it's Jovani. But they were the fools who let themselves be played by that woman. Why come running to her now?
"I know how incredibly skilled you are," Charles presses, his tone shifting into quiet reverence. "You were mentored by the reclusive medical genius, Dr. Prescott. I am begging you to save them. They are still your mother and your brother. I know you've severed your emotional ties with them, but they are still human lives. I'm not trying to guilt-trip you. I'm just asking that if you don't hate them to the point of wishing them dead, please intervene."
