The Scorned Heiress: No More Mercy novel Chapter 743

"I want to go back to the site where my dad had the accident. I need to see if there are any clues left," Tara says, her gaze determined.

She firmly believes her father tried to send a message right before he died. Unfortunately, he didn't make it. Her mentor Joey mentioned the same suspicion during their private chats. They both suspect Charles left behind some vital piece of evidence that they simply haven't discovered yet. Perhaps he didn't have time, or perhaps there is a hidden trace left behind. Regardless, Tara refuses to give up. She wants to re-examine every detail they might have overlooked.

"Alright. I'll go with you," Danny replies without a second thought.

The crash site had been cordoned off by the police for days to preserve evidence and prevent anyone from deliberately destroying traces of foul play. The yellow tape is finally gone, but a suffocating wave of heaviness still lingers in the air.

Standing in the desolate outskirts of the city, Tara frowns, her sharp eyes scanning the rugged terrain. They have been here countless times, always returning empty-handed. This time is no different.

The only piece of evidence they recovered is the phone Charles used right before his death. When the police found it, it was completely smashed, deliberately crushed by a heavy object. It was wiped entirely clean of fingerprints, proving the killer is bold, highly backed, and utterly fearless. Instead of disposing of the phone, they left it right next to Charles's body—either as a blatant taunt to the Dennis family or to make the murder scene look less staged.
