The Scorned Heiress: No More Mercy novel Chapter 750

"Since when does a homewrecker have the right to speak in this room? What does a mistress know about running a global empire?" Deanna fires back instantly, her voice dripping with venom.

Deanna knows perfectly well that her late husband never actually slept with this woman, and that the whole affair was a calculated front for a deeper mission. She trusts Charles completely. But the public doesn't know that. The public thinks Jovani is a mistress. Since Deanna had to endure the humiliation and the mocking whispers from high society, she has zero issues using that exact narrative to publicly destroy Jovani right now.

"Who the hell are you calling a mistress? How dare you speak to my mother like that! Do you even know who she is now? You have no right—"

Before Jade can finish her sentence, Deanna lunges forward and slaps her across the face. Twice.

The sharp, brutal cracks echo through the silent boardroom. Deanna puts every single ounce of her strength into the strikes. Even though she is still recovering and isn't at full power, it is more than enough to instantly swell Jade's cheeks.

"You... you hit me?" Jade gasps, holding her burning face, her eyes wide with shock.

"What? Was I too nice to you in the past, so now you can't handle a couple of slaps?" Deanna's eyes narrow into dangerous, predatory slits.

Thinking back on how she treated this parasitic adopted daughter with nothing but love and care makes her feel sick to her stomach. It is absurd. Slapping her twice feels like a mercy. If murder were legal, she would have ripped Jade apart with her bare hands a long time ago.

"Mrs. Dennis, this is a place of business. Please remember your status and act accordingly," Jovani hisses, her eyes practically shooting fire. "If you're going to cause a scene in public, I have no problem having security drag you out."
