After everyone finishes breakfast, they spend a few hours hiking and playing games around the campsite. By late morning, the group begins packing up their gear to drive to a nearby hot spring resort for lunch, an afternoon of soaking in the baths, and a relaxing evening before heading back to the city.
The resort is a newly developed luxury property tucked away in the suburbs. Because it just recently opened and hasn't launched a massive marketing campaign yet, it remains relatively unknown. The retreat organizers specifically chose it for that exact reason—it guarantees pristine facilities, privacy, and a safe, uncrowded environment for the staff.
Since Dennis Group pays a highly competitive salary, the employees are well-off and have driven their own vehicles to the site. A convoy of cars quickly makes its way down the winding mountain road toward the resort.
Danny and Tara, as always, prefer their privacy over mingling with the massive crowd. Instead of heading straight into the grand dining hall with the rest of the staff, they stroll hand in hand through the beautifully landscaped grounds, checking out the architecture.
"This place is actually stunning," Tara remarks, looking around at the serene bamboo gardens and modern wooden pavilions. "The air quality, the layout, the privacy—it's all perfect. The only downside is how far it is from the city center."
"I think the distance is the selling point," Danny replies, his thumb brushing over her knuckles. "People in the city are suffocating under corporate pressure. The executives and young elites will absolutely make the drive out here on weekends just to escape the noise. It just hasn't hit the mainstream market yet."
"You seem to really like it," he adds casually, turning to look at her. "If you want it, I'll buy the entire resort right now. You can be the boss."
He says it so casually that a normal person would assume he is joking, but Tara knows he is dead serious. He would authorize a multi-million-dollar acquisition without blinking just to make her smile.
Tara laughs, shaking her head. "No thanks. I was just making an observation. Please don't add another massive corporation to my plate."
