The Scorned Heiress: No More Mercy novel Chapter 789

It takes forever, but Jade finally tracks down the three brothers. They are lounging by themselves at a shallow fish spa pool, letting the tiny garra rufa fish nibble at the dead skin on their feet.

Jade curses internally when she sees Jake sitting with them. Out of all the brothers, the eldest is the most calculating and immune to manipulation. If it had just been Nikolai and Alec, she knows she could have broken them down. But since she can't exactly ask Jake to leave, she forces a timid smile and walks over.

"Oh, hey guys. What a coincidence finding you all here," she says softly, sitting down on the edge of the stone basin. She absolutely hates fish spas—the sensation of tiny mouths picking at her skin makes her want to vomit—but she forces herself to dip her feet into the water to play along.

"I'm getting out. This water just got severely polluted by toxic waste, and I refuse to sit in it," Jake announces loudly.

He doesn't even look at her. The moment the conniving bitch sat down, a wave of visceral, physical disgust washed over him. The fish spa had been deeply relaxing, but her mere presence completely destroyed the vibe. He pulls his feet out, grabs his towel, and immediately walks toward another pool.

Alec and Nikolai, who had been resting with their eyes closed, are a second slower to react. But the moment they open their eyes and see Jade, their expressions morph into matching masks of sheer revulsion.

"He's right. The toxicity levels just spiked. I need to leave before I catch a disease," Nikolai says coldly.

"Yeah, being near this psycho is actually making my chest hurt," Alec adds, pulling his legs out of the water.
