The Scorned Heiress: No More Mercy novel Chapter 856

He is a true professional, after all. He absolutely cannot eavesdrop on the car owner's private business.

Coen, of course, catches the driver stifling a smile in the rearview mirror. He has never dealt with anything like this before. He feels a mix of intense awkwardness and utter helplessness. He genuinely wants to strangle this woman.

They spend the next few minutes in a ridiculous tug-of-war, with Bianca practically melted into his side. Glancing out the window, Coen realizes they are only a few blocks from the Turner residence.

"Pull over right here," he instructs the driver.

The driver, confused but compliant, eases the car to the curb. "Yes, sir."

"You. Get out." Coen looks pointedly at Bianca.

"Me?" Bianca points at herself, entirely bewildered. "You want me to get out?"

"Yes. Either call a cab or walk the rest of the way."

With that, Coen 'thoughtfully' pushes her door open, effectively kicking her to the curb.

Still reeling from her failed attempt at seduction, Bianca stumbles out onto the sidewalk in a daze. By the time she recovers and reaches for the door handle to climb back in, the door slams shut, and the car speeds off into the night.

Bianca stands there, mouth agape. That insufferable jerk!

She stamps her foot, wanting to cry from frustration. "How does he have so much self-control?! He has zero appreciation for women. Doesn't he know a good thing when it's literally throwing itself at him?"
