The Scorned Heiress: No More Mercy novel Chapter 901

Jade stumbles into her house, her spirit completely crushed. She stares blankly at the meager properties and storefront deeds she has left, knowing full well that liquidating them won't even come close to covering her reckless spending. As she watches her assets dwindle to nothing, a suffocating wave of panic washes over her. If this keeps up, she won't just lose her status as a top-tier socialite; she won't even be able to pass for an ordinary rich girl. "No, this absolutely cannot happen!" she mutters to herself, her behavior growing increasingly erratic and paranoid. Right now, there is only one person she can count on.

Desperate, she marches straight to her mother's room. "Mom! Mom, what are you doing?" she cries out, unable to wait for an answer as she twists the knob and barges in. Years of playing the victim in the Dennis family have trained her well; her tears fall on command, streaming down her face in heavy drops.

She chokes back a sob, staring at her mother's back as Jovani sits motionless at her vanity. "Mom, you've seen what they're saying online, right? It was a setup! Someone framed me! Now even some third-rate bitch from a minor family thinks she can bully me and scheme against me. We can't keep living like this! When are we finally going back to the Sinclair family? If we don't go back soon, we'll be nothing but a joke. How are we supposed to hold our heads high?"

In the past, this pitiful, tear-soaked routine would have garnered instant sympathy from anyone in the room. But now, it doesn't just fail on the men of the Dennis family—it seems her own mother is entirely immune. Jovani remains seated at her vanity, staring obsessively into the mirror, completely ignoring Jade's breakdown.

"Mom, say something! Am I wrong?" Jade presses, her voice rising in panic. "We walked out of the Dennis family making bold threats, swearing we'd make them look up to us in awe. Look how long it's been! Anyone with eyes can see we're living like ants right now. Are you really okay with letting everyone look down on us?"

Jade rambles on, her frustration mounting with every word, but Jovani sits there as if she were deaf or dead. The agonizing silence pushes Jade to the brink. She knows her mother is her only lifeline right now. Jovani has to use her beauty or her cunning to coax Gregory back. As long as her mother can keep him happy, their future is secured. Swallowing her bitter anger, Jade marches over and snaps, "Mom, are you listening to me? Are you deaf, or are you just ignoring me?"

Refusing to believe her own mother would abandon her only daughter, Jade reaches out and roughly tugs at Jovani's sleeve, trying to force her attention away from the mirror. The sudden movement shakes the vanity. Expensive perfume bottles wobble, and luxury cosmetics topple over with a sharp, clattering crash.

The piercing noise finally snaps Jovani out of her trance. Her temper flares instantly. She shoots up from her chair, whirls around, and slaps Jade across the face with explosive force. "You useless disappointment! You have the nerve to march in here and blame me?" Jovani shrieks. "You blame me for failing to get you into the Sinclair family and for ruining your relationship with the Dennis family? Don't you dare forget that without my arrangements, you would be absolutely nothing!"
