Deanna's face turns livid. She tries to interrupt several times, but Jade's rapid-fire insults drown her out. Finally, Deanna slams her hand on the table and screams, "Jade! Watch your mouth! Who gave you the right to judge Tara? Our relationship is none of your business!"

And now that Tara is actually worth something, you come crawling back to claim her? If I were Tara, I wouldn't be this nice. I would have kicked you to the curb and cut ties forever!"

She glares at Tara, her tone dripping with provocation. "Or is it just that you realize having Deanna around gives you some sort of benefit now? Is that why you're playing the perfect daughter?"

Tara doesn't show a sliver of anger. She sits quietly, letting Jade finish her bitter rant. Then, she slowly sets her teacup down with a soft click.
