The Scorned Heiress: No More Mercy novel Chapter 939

"A quick study," the Boss remarks, a glint of dark approval in his eyes. "Tara trusts Danny implicitly. Wherever that formula is hidden, you can guarantee Danny knows exactly how to access it. We take the girl, and we use her life to force him to hand it over." Once he has both the formula and the couple in his custody, he will simply wipe them off the face of the earth. It is the perfect strategy to eliminate two massive threats with a single strike.

Gregory nods enthusiastically, eagerly kissing up to his superior. "Brilliant! That is absolutely brilliant, Boss! Not only do we bypass the impossible task of finding the formula, but we permanently neutralize our two biggest obstacles. It's killing two—no, three birds with one stone!" Though laying it on thick, Gregory genuinely admires the mastermind's ruthless, razor-sharp intellect. That is how a true conqueror operates.

The Boss smirks, his tone dripping with arrogant certainty. "Danny is a lovesick fool. The second Tara is in danger, he'll lose his mind. He'll be putty in our hands." Anyone in their elite circle can see the terrifying depth of Danny's devotion. He wouldn't just surrender a formula to save her; he would gladly burn down his entire empire and sacrifice his own life without a second thought. The Boss sneers at the concept of love, viewing it as a pathetic weakness ready to be exploited.

"When do we strike? Should I start assembling a strike team?" Gregory asks eagerly.

"Patience," the man replies smoothly. "Tara has been exceedingly cautious lately, and that Calhoun boy guards her like a hawk. I will personally arrange the operatives for this extraction. You just wait for my signal." A mission of this magnitude requires absolute perfection. If they miss their shot, getting a second chance will be virtually impossible. He has to oversee the strike himself.

"Thank God," Zoey sighs in immense relief. Her eyes harden. "It's a good thing that vile impostor didn't cross that line, otherwise a prison sentence would be far too merciful for her."

Tara keeps her true thoughts to herself. She knows Julianna wasn't the mastermind pulling the strings; it was Gregory all along. The only reason Gregory kept Julia physically unharmed wasn't out of some lingering familial mercy for his late brother, Garrett. He simply didn't want to damage a pristine future test subject.
