The Secret Heiress Loved by Four (Isha and Jason) novel Chapter 13

Thirteen

The hot spring was quiet, the water rippling gently around me as I sat there, shoulders beneath the warm steam. Moonlight filtered through the open roof, casting a soft glow over the rocks and mist. I tilted my head back, closing my eyes, trying to breathe past the pain in my chest. The wound on my side still burned. I’d tried to shift. I’d tried to call my wolf. Nothing answered.

I felt empty.

I let the heat wrap around me, hoping it would ease my muscles, hoping the water would help ease the pain.

Then I heard it.. Da soft splash.

Too close.

Too heavy.

My forehead tightened. Maybe it was one of the omega. Maybe Talia. I didn’t open my eyes. I didn’t want anyone. I wanted silence.

But then I heard his voice… deep, calm, steady, cutting through the steam.

“You’re not healing because you can’t call out your wolf.”

My eyes shot open.

And my breath just… stopped.

Kaelen was there. In the spring. In the water.

Naked!.

I hadn’t even heard him enter. I couldn’t understand or get used to how quickly he moved.

My heart hammered against my ribs, nearly deafening me. I swallowed hard, my eyes locked on him before I could stop myself.

His… I couldn’t bring myself to utter

How huge they were.

He stood in the waist-deep water like he belonged there, like the steam rose only for him. His body… impossible. Broad shoulders flowing into strong arms. A chest carved with sharp lines of muscle, catching the faint moonlight. Scars marked him here and there… one near his shoulder blade, another across his stomach… thin, pale, the kind that whispered of survival against impossible odds. His abdomen was hard, tight, every muscle stacked in rigid perfection. Water slid over him slowly, like it didn’t dare touch too fast.

I could barely breathe.

I parted my lips, but no sound came.

His gold eyes found mine, calm, sharp, warm yet unreadable. The steam curled around him, making him look even more dangerous and more beautiful. Dark hair fell damp over his forehead, and I was suddenly very aware of how ill I’d been holding my breath.

“W What… what are you doing here?” finally croaked.

He stepped closer, water rippling around him, and his voice was steady, like it was the most normal thing in the world to stand naked a few fet away from me.

“I came to check how you’re feeling.”

1 blinked hard, looking away, though I couldn’t stop my gaze from snapping back to him. My thoughts scattered like frightened birds.

“You can’t…” My breath shook as I forced myself to meet his eyes. “You can’t just walk in here

1 gestured weakly at the water, letting my fingers sink into the warmth. My cheeks burned. My heart hammered so loudly I was sure he could hear it.

He tilted his head slightly, stepping closer. The water rose to his hips.

“Why not?” he asked simply.

Why not?

I almost choked..

Why not? Because it was Kaelen. Because he was too much. Because no woman could think clearly with him this close. Because he looked carved from stone and fire and danger. Because the air itself seemed to hum around him..

But the words tangled inside me. I opened my mouth, but nothing made sense.

“B-Because… it’s a woman’s bath,” I finally staromered.

A slow, knowing smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. His eyes didn’t leave mine for a second.

“There is nowhere I can’t enter.”

The words were soft, but they hit me like a wave of heat.

He moved again, coming close enough that the water shifted and touched my skin because of him. The warmth felt hotter all of a sudden. My breath trembled. I could smell him… clean, fresh, faintly wild, like pine and cold air. My fingers curled against the stone I was leaning on

I tried to lean back, but the wall pressed against me. No escape. He didn’t touch me, didn’t crowd me, but his presence wrapped around me completely.

“Still haven’t shifted, have you?” His voice dropped low, almost a whisper.

I shook my head. That was all I could manage.

“You’re scared,” he said quietly. Not judging. Not cold. Just stating what he saw.

A small sound escaped my lips.

“I’m not…” I faltered, unsure if it was true.

His eyes softened, but his body stayed firm, unmoving, like a mountain of heat and strength.

“Your wolf is answering,” he murmured, “but you’re not listening.”

My heartbeat stumbled.

My wolf.

I looked away, pain flashing across my face. “I… I don’t hear anything,” I whispered.

He stepped even closer, slow enough for me to feel him in every nerve, but not enough to touch me. He leaned down slightly, his voice brushing against my ear.

“Thats because you’re too stubborn. But you will

My breath caught sharply. He wasn’t touching me… not even a fingertip… but my whole body felt him. His heat. His strength. The awareness that rolled off him like a second skin.

Kaelen’s gaze dropped… just for a moment.. to my mouth, then lifted back to my eyes. The steam curled around us like a curtain, making the world feel smaller… closer… like we were the only two people who existed.

He didn’t move away.

“Let me help you call her,” he murmured, voice deep, warm, wrapping around me.”Let me help you find your wolf.”

My heart slammed against my ribs, wild and confused and wanting all at once.

I didn’t know what to say. I didn’t know how to breathe. I didn’t know how I was supposed to survive standing this close to him… Kaelen, naked, looking at me like he couldn’t wait to devour me.

And when he reached out… slowly, giving me every chance to think… my breath held completely.

I didn’t move.

I didn’t want to.

He leaned in, close enough that I felt his breath brush my skin. “Let me help you heal fast,” he

whispered.

He didn’t wait for my answer.

Before I could say a word… his mouth closed over my breast, hot and firm, his lips wrapping around my skin. He sucked hard, pulling my nipple deep into the warmth of his mouth.
