The Shy Beauty and the Billionaire Beast (Ana and Jaxon) novel Chapter 17

*Jaxon's pnt of view*

I watched as Sonya quietly placed our breakfast on the table. She avoided eye contact, and she pretended as if both Rose and I were invisible.

"Thank you Sonya." Said Rose in a mocking tone.
But Sonya ignored her taunting and instead turned and headed back to the kitchen.

With a shake of my head, I left the table and followed her.

"Sonya, how long are you going to be mad at me? I already told you the reason why this is happening." I pleaded to the woman who refused to even look at me.

"Are you going to get her back?" She asked quietly after a moment of silence.

"Who?" I asked confused.

"Ana! Have you forgotten her already?" She asked, shocked, and maybe even hurt.

"No of course not." I reassured her. How could I forget Ana? She consumed all of my thoughts.

"So are you going to get her back?" She pressed.

"I will." I confirmed. I just had to take care of this matter.

"When? Because if you wait too long, she might not want to come back." She said, raising a red flag in my brain.

"She's going to have to come back whether she likes it or not." I stated, my ego and arrogance rising.

"Knowing Ana, I think she escaped you. Good luck Jaxon, I can honestly say you really messed up on this one." Said Sonya, as she shook her head disappointed.

"If I get her back, will you forgive me?" I asked her, yet she still refused to look me in the eye.

"Don't get her back because of me. Get her back because you actually love her. And if you don't, leave her alone, and I'll still be here." She said in a soft tone at the end.

*Third person pnt. Of view*

With that, Sonya turned, and walked away, making sure to let her tears fall, when she was far away from Jaxon. She loved that man as though he was the child from her womb. She hated to see him throw away his future, and throw away the one person she could've seen loving him, besides her.

Jaxon returned to the dining room, in a sour mood.

"So tell me, why her? She's not your type." Rose spoke up, after spending a minute observing her sulking partner.

Jaxon scoffed and rolled his eyes as he asked, "I have a type?"

"I am your type. Among tall blondes and red heads. A shy brunette never really caught your interest before." Explained Rose.

"Don't tell me you're jealous." Tainted Jaxon.

"No, don't insult me, I am more or less confused. Jaxon you're not going to pursue this girl because of your wounded pride and ego, are you? Because if that's the only reason, that's just plain cruel." Stated Rose, as she sipped her coffee.

"You didn't have to kiss me in front of her you know." Stated Jaxon, slightly changing the subject.

"Yeah, well my father's men were watching, so I had to put on a show to keep him off my back." Replied Rose in a careless tone.

"And Stewart tipped him off about Ana?" Asked Jaxon, making sure he had all the details.

"Yep." Confirmed Rose.

"So now, we just play happy family for a few, then you get your money, and I get your father's business, and we both go on our merry way." Stated Jaxon in a business tone.

"That is the plan." Replied Rose.

Then they sat in silence for a few minutes.

"She challenges me." Stated Jaxon after a good moment of silence.

"She gets nervous around me, but if I push her, she becomes this princess that doesn't accept any of my BS. She's consuming my thoughts every second of the day." Admitted Jaxon.

Unlike somebody she knew.

So with a smile, and a shy blush, she looked over at John and said "yes, you have earned the name."

John grabbed her into his arms and spun her around, as they laughed and giggled.

Then he brought her down, and for the first time, they kissed gently.

But there was nothing.

She had only kissed one man in her life, and when Stewart attacked her, she didn't consider that a kiss.

She tried to get committed to the kiss. John was being soft, careful even, and here she was, not feeling anything.

John pulled away with a smile.

He didn't seem to notice the lack of sparks, like the ones from a certain ice king that causes her heart to pound out of her chest.

He pecked her lips then said "I'll see you tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow." She confirmed, then John left.

The second she was alone Ana sighed, and she found herself checking her phone.

On her Google feed, a picture of Jaxon and Rose holding hands while waking out of his business was displayed, with the title "New Jersey' s most available bachelor, taken?"

The title itself crushed her heart, not to mention the picture, along with the fact that Jaxon hadn’t contacted her at all, not even to ask about his car.

She sighed and found her mind drifting to John. He was a sweetheart, and she was going to love him...

She had to, even if there was a possibility that Jaxon may have ruined her idea of Romantic.
