Chapter 152
Mia surprised him again by pulling him closer when he thought she’d get tired, instead she whispered his name in that breathy way that drove him absolutely crazy.
An hour later, Stefan was still trying to process what had just happened. First, Mia hadn’t wanted him to stop when they were interrupted. Second, she had kept asking for more, becoming more passionate than she had been in months.
He couldn’t help but be grateful for her pregnancy if this was one of the side effects. He loved this confident, horny, ever ready version of his wife.
Elena, who had actually returned home about an hour ago, had knocked on their bedroom door to let them know
she was back.
But after knocking twice and getting no answer, she had quickly figured out that the couple didn’t need any distractions right now.
She had tiptoed back to her own room with a bright smile on her face, happy to see that Mia and Stefan were still so in love and passionate about each other.
Once she was settled in her room, she picked up her phone and sent a text to Ethan: “I’m back. In my room now.
He replied almost immediately: “Thank God. I missed you so much. I’ll try to finish up what I’m working on so I can come see you.”
A few minutes later, another text came through: “Would you like to go on a date with me tonight? Somewhere nice, just the two of us.”
Elena’s heart fluttered as she typed back: “I’d love that.”
She set her phone aside and lay down for a nap, exhausted from traveling. When she woke up, she panicked for a moment thinking she had overslept, but when she checked the time, she realized she had only been asleep for a couple of hours.
Feeling thirsty, she decided to go to the kitchen to get some water.
As she approached the kitchen, she could hear soft voices and what sounded like… kissing.
When she rounded the corner, she saw James and Sienna locking lips passionately. Sienna was sitting on the kitchen counter with her legs wrapped around James’s waist, while he stood between them, his hands tangled
in her hair.
Elena paused for just a second, but then decided to walk in anyway. They were in a common area, after all. And it was completely normal for couples to make out, she didn’t have a problem with whether they made out or not.
“Gross. Get a room, please,” she said with a teasing smile.

Sienna immediately broke away from James and beamed when she saw her.
“Oh my God, you’re back!” Sienna squealed, jumping down from the counter and rushing to hug Elena. “I missed you so much! How was your trip? Tell me everything!”
Elena returned the enthusiastic hug, genuinely happy to see Sienna. Despite everything that had happened, she had grown to really care about Stefan’s sister.
“I missed you too, Si,” Elena said with a warm smile. “The trip was exactly what I needed. So peaceful and quiet. The last time I went on a real vacation was like… a year ago.”
She paused for a moment, remembering that her last vacation had been with Mose, back when they were still together and happy.
And how it had painfully became what birthed all these. But she pushed the thought away and smiled brighter.
“It really felt amazing to get away from Mia’s pregnancy hormones and Stefan’s overprotective husband routine,” she joked.
“I heard that,” Stefan’s voice came from the kitchen entrance.
Elena turned to see Stefan walking in with Mia beside him. Both of them looked thoroughly… satisfied. Mia’s hair was tousled and her lips were still slightly swollen from kissing.
Stefan had that relaxed, content expression he always wore after intimate moments with his wife.
Elena looked at Mia with a teasing expression but didn’t say anything out loud. Instead, she looked directly at
Stefan.
“I wasn’t trying to hide it from you,” she said with a grin.
Stefan chuckled and wrapped his arm around Mia’s waist possessively.
Elena grabbed her water bottle from the refrigerator and started walking toward the kitchen exit.
“I need to excuse myself,” she said dramatically. “I can see that love is definitely in the air around here.”
Mia stuck out her tongue playfully at Elena’s comment.
“Don’t worry,” Mia called after her. “He’ll be here soon. You don’t have to miss him that much.”
“Who will be here?” James asked, his eyebrows raising in confusion. He had been quiet during the whole exchange, but now he looked genuinely puzzled.
Elena, who had been about to leave the kitchen, paused in the doorway and looked back at him. There was something different about his expression – a tension that hadn’t been there moments before.
“Ethan,” she said with a soft smile that seemed to light up her entire face. “It’s Ethan I’m missing.”
And with that, she walked away, leaving the kitchen behind.
But she didn’t see the way James stood there, frozen in place like someone had just poured ice water over his head.
