Chapter 47
Mia stepped into view, standing in the doorway with bed-tousled hair, flushed cheeks, and legs bare beneath an oversized shirt that clearly wasn’t hers.
The flashes started, blinding, relentless. The media swarmed like bees to honey.
Julian stood there with a smug face, this was going according to his plan. He wasn’t someone that could be disgraced, he’d teach Mia and Stefan a lesson. No one beats him at this game, he’ll show them why he’s call ” the game owner”.
“Miss Mia!”
“Are you and Julian Thorn in a relationship now?”
“Is this your way of quitting the adult industry, settling with Julian Thorn?” The moment those words cut through the noise, Julian’s smile faded.
One minute he was leaning against the door frame with a cocky satisfaction, the next he was rendered speechless.
Mia Legra?
Not Mia Meyer?
Wait! What?
The confusion hit him like a slap, his body stiffened. This wasn’t the plan, this wasn’t supposed to happen. He was supposed to be seen with Mia Meyer, Mia Legra.
Mia Legra is a famous adult movie actor, she’d won awards for it. The whole city knew her as a pornstar, he wasn’t meant to be seen with likes of her.
Last night, the both of them had fun. Yes. But, she left. He saw her leave, before he went into the room where he was told Mia was. He didn’t want to do anything with her because, he knew the media would be coming today. And he didn’t want to cross Stefan that way, he still likes his life.
But this, right here was bad. He need to call Samuel Meyer, his men her useless.
Mia Meyer was supposed to be the one in his room, he one they’d all see. The one who’s reputations should have been destroyed, and her name written on all headlines.
Questions were flying, microphones nearly jabbing him in the chest.
“Was this a publicity stunt?” ”
“Do you plan to marry her? Is it to spite Mia for breaking your heart?”
“Is she pregnant, Julian?”
He didn’t hear them, because his mind were full of confusion. His brain was sprinting for answers, but nothing
made sense.

Then, in a voice so calm it chilled him, Mia Legra spoke.
“Julian and I have been in a secret relationship. He wanted to make it public, but I never imagined he’d pull a stunt like this.”
She turned to him, her eyes cold but glinting with something deeper, like he’d hurt her feelings.
“I told you my career matters to me. I love you, Julian, but not more than I love my job. It’s over.” Julian looked at her confused, wondering what she was on about.
She turned around, walked back into the hotel room and shut the door behind her.
The hallway exploded again, but Julian didn’t hear any of it, he was too stunned.
He stood there frozen, stunned, humiliated. His carefully laid plan in ruins, the wrong Mia in his bed, and the world watching it all unfold like a twisted soap opera.
While the reporters were still shouting questions at a stunned Julian, the door to the hotel room next door creaked open.
At first, no one paid attention, until someone gasped, “Is that Mia Meyer?”
Like a switch had been flipped, the crowd turned.
Microphones, cameras, questions, everything shifted direction. Today seems like a day of drama, and the whole world was watching the soap opera.
Mia stepped into view, poised, composed… and completely unbothered.
She wore soft beige loungewear that flattered her figure in a quiet, expensive kind of way. Her face was bare, no makeup but she looked radiant. Her hair was loose around her shoulders, and her eyes… her eyes were calm, too
calm.
The first few questions came like bullets.
“Mia, are you here with someone?”
“Does Stefan Sterling know you’re in a hotel with Julian?”
“Are you cheating on your fiancé?” She said nothing yet, because she didn’t have to.
They were already spinning the story the way she and Stefan needed them to. And the moment was coming.
Right on cue, she felt the warmth of a hand at the small of her back.
Stefan.
He emerged from behind her like a tall, confident, dressed in sleek black. His gaze swept the crowd, jaw tight, body angled toward Mia like he was ready to shield her from the world.
His presence alone silenced the crowd, his expression was unreadable, calm and composed. He looked straight at the press, voice cool and confident.
“Is it a crime to spend the night in a hotel with my wife?” The silence that followed was deafening.

Cameras froze, jaws dropped. The air felt like everyone had forgotten how to breathe.
Then the reporters exploded again, voices overlapping in chaos.
“Your wife? What do you mean?”
“When did you two get married?!”
“Where was the wedding?”
“How did no one know?”
But Stefan remained unfazed. He reached for Mia’s hand and held it tightly, his eyes locked on hers for a moment before facing the press again.
“Mia and I are legally married,” he said calmly. “She’s no longer Mia Meyer, she’s Mia Sterling now.” A ripple of shock passed through the hallway again. 1
