Chapter 217 One Seed for One Watermelon

When Daphne insisted on splitting everything with her, Lilith felt a warm little tug in her heart. Then she waved it off without a second thought. “Oh, come on. I gave that to you, so it’s yours. Why would you split it with me? Do I look like someone who’s short on a few potatoes and strawberries?”
She really wasn’t. Her spending money was usually measured in the tens of thousands.
As she spoke, she opened the insulated box she’d brought back and proudly took out a beautifully packaged container of strawberries. “Come on, try these. Now this is what I call real treasure. I’m telling you, a few days ago I happened to find this insanely amazing stall. Their strawberries are absolutely the best.”
She raised a thumb. “I’d bet there isn’t a second place in the whole empire that can match them. They’re a hundred times better than Seafarm Group’s strawberries. My bodyguard stood in line forever to get these.
Daphne looked at the strawberries in Lilith’s hand, then at the five Elizabeth had given her on the table.
Wait. Didn’t the packaging look a little similar? Even the size, color, and gloss of the strawberries inside looked almost identical.
Lilith noticed the strawberries on Daphne’s table too. She leaned in for a closer look, then looked back at the ones in her own hand, brows knitting.
“Huh? Daphne, these strawberries of yours… Why do they look so much like the ones I bought?” Her tone turned annoyed. “It’s only been a few days, and there’s already a copycat? They even copied the packaging this closely? That’s ridiculous.”
She assumed someone was imitating the stall owner’s product, and the thought immediately irritated her. To her, it felt like an insult to the strawberries she adored.
To prove it, she decided to test the fake herself. She plucked one from Daphne’s little box and said, “Let me taste it. If the flavor’s way off, I’ll report this knockoff to the platform myself.”
Then she popped the strawberry into her mouth. In an instant, that familiar, soul–shaking burst of perfect sweetness, overflowing juice, and fresh fruit fragrance flooded her mouth again.
It tasted exactly the same as the strawberries in her own box. No, if anything, this one felt even fresher, with an even stronger aroma.
Lilith froze. Her eyes flew wide as she looked at the half–eaten strawberry in her hand, then at Daphne’s box, then back at her own, her face a mix of shock and utter confusion.
“This… this taste…” Lilith murmured. Then she turned sharply to Daphne. “Daphne, where exactly did
these strawberries come from?”
Daphne was startled by her reaction and nodded quickly. “A user on the Free Market named Interstellar Tycoon gave them to me. Lilith, what’s wrong? Is there something wrong with the strawberries?”
Lilith didn’t look like someone who’d just eaten a cheap imitation.

out a laugh that was half disbelief, half exasperation. “Oh my God. Daphne. The stall owner I bought those amazing strawberries from is called Tycoon Boss. We’re talking about the same person.”
Now it was Daphne’s turn to gape. “What? Seriously? That much of a coincidence?”
Lilith immediately had Daphne pull up the bounty post. She read through it carefully, and at last all the clues connected.
So the treasure stall owner who had stunned her enough to make her send people to stand in line and fight for fruit was the same Tycoon Boss now offering outrageously generous trades for seeds on the Free Market.
“But why would Tycoon Boss want your scallions? And why be that generous about it?” Lilith looked from the post to the box of potatoes, utterly baffled.
Trading goods worth nearly 20,000 stellar coins for a pot of shabby scallions worth, at best, a few hundred made no sense at all. No matter how she looked at it, it was a terrible deal.
“She said she needs all kinds of seeds and plants fo
long–term,” Daphne explained. “Maybe… maybe she’s just trying to collect different varieties?” She couldn’t really figure it out either.
Lilith stared at the bounty post, her eyes moving as a brilliant idea suddenly took shape. Her two favorite fruits in the world were strawberries and watermelons.
She used to think Seafarm Group’s strawberries were already amazing. But ever since tasting Tycoon Boss’s strawberries, Seafarm Group’s didn’t even register as food anymore.
And if this magical Tycoon Boss could grow watermelons as delicious as those strawberries…. just imagining it made Lilith feel like she might faint from happiness.
She immediately pulled out her device, logged into the Free Market, and posted a serious reply under Tycoon Farm’s bounty listing as LilithEatsNoGreens,
[Tycoon Boss! I have specially cultivated Honeyjade watermelon seeds with super high sugar content. They came from my family estate’s lab and they’re excellent stock. I want to trade ten watermelon seeds for ten watermelons grown by you. Is that okay? I want to taste fruit grown by you so badly. Please please.]
After hitting send, Lilith turned to Daphne with shining eyes. “Do you think Tycoon Boss will agree? One seed for one fruit, and watermelons are huge. Will she think I’m being greedy?”
She was already dying to taste watermelons grown by Tycoon Boss. If this worked, it would absolutely be the best investment she made all year.
What she didn’t know was that not long after her one seed for one fruit comment went up, it stirred up a huge argument in the Free Market bounty section.
