Chapter 5
Three days later, Priscilla checked out of the hospital and got ready to go home.
Angelo waited for her at the door like never before, and took her luggage initiative.
“Today was my day off, rare to have no work, I took you out for a stroll.”
Priscilla was stunned for a moment.
After so many years of marriage, Angelo never once took the initiative to ask her out on a date.
Even though she had planned the trip in advance, done her makeup beautifully, and chosen a restaurant to
his taste, Angelo would still politely decline with reasons like being busy with work or having to go on a
business trip.
She didn’t know why he suddenly suggested going shopping today. Was it a whim?
Still feel guilty about leaving her injured at the restaurant that day, so want to make it up?
Would such a person feel guilty too?
Angelo didn’t notice her mood change, took her to the mall, and walked into a jewelry store.
He immediately fell in love with several diamond necklaces, asked the salesperson to bring them out, and
had Priscilla try them on one by one.
The salesperson took it out with a smile, personally helped the customer try it on, and kept praising it in his
mouth.
“The gentleman has a great eye, this necklace is the treasure of our store, it looks perfect on the lady’s neck,
really complements her style.”
“The lady is really lucky to have such a doting husband who personally helps you choose. It seems like the
two of you must have a very harmonious relationship.”
Upon hearing their compliments, Angelo still maintained his cold and indifferent demeanor.
Priscilla looked down at the necklace around her neck.
If it were in the past, she would have been very happy to receive these gifts, but now, she just feels it’s
unnecessary to buy them back.
“Don’t buy me anything, I don’t like jewelry…”
Angelo seemed to not hear her words, and after choosing a necklace, he just took out his card and paid the
bill.
When the salesperson finished packaging and brought it over, he finally turned around and gave her a casual glance, with a light tone.

“I know you don’t like it, but today is Miley’s birthday. This is the gift I got for her. I’m afraid it might not fit, so
I’m asking you to help me try it on.”
Upon hearing that, Priscilla was deeply shaken.
So, I took her out today not because I felt guilty, but just to find Miley a more perfect gift.
From start to finish, she was just a tool.
Next, Angelo said that Miley also invited her to the birthday party, so he took her straight to a club.
Just as I pushed open the private room door, I saw a faint smile on Miley and Angelo’s usually cold faces.
He handed the gift to her and said “Happy birthday.”
