Chapter 341 Hide and Seek
Chapter 341 Hide and Seek
“That shouldn’t be too hard for you, right?”
Sebastian paused for a moment.
The plan was bold, clever–and it would keep Lucas living in his own little fantasy for half a year.
A faint smile tugged at the corner of his mouth, and he nodded without hesitation.
“Consider it done.”
After getting his answer, Riley deliberately waited until after dark to call Lucas.

She got straight to the point, her voice deliberately subdued, layered with tired resignation. “Fine. I’ll do it. You’ve got six more months.”
On the other end of the line, Lucas released a heavy, audible sigh of relief.
It was as if a weight had been lifted from his chest in that moment.
His voice instantly brightened. “Riley, I knew it–you still care.”
Inside, Riley laughed coldly, but none of it showed in her tone. “And you’re sure that in six months, all these… loose ends will be tied up?”
“Absolutely,” Lucas replied instantly. “I give you my word–whether it’s your position at the company or the situation with Sophia, nothing will stand between us anymore.”
“Okay,” Riley responded flatly, then shifted gears. “So can you pull your people back now? I’m not a prisoner here.”
There was a brief silence on the other end.
“No,” Lucas said, turning firm again. “The day after tomorrow, I’m personally taking you to the airport.”
What he meant was clear: until she was gone, she’d remain under watch in this gilded cage.
Riley had expected as much.
She ended the call without another word.
The living room fell quiet again.
Riley put her phone away and glanced toward Sebastian, who’d been sitting quietly nearby the whole time. A trace of apology softened her expression. “Looks like you’re stuck here with me for another day or two. Sorry about that.”
Sebastian rose to his feet deliberately, his tall frame casting an elegant shadow under the crystal chandelier. His eyes held a faint, unreadable smile.
He arched an eyebrow and replied with a meaningful tone, “That’s not an issue for me.”
Before the words had fully settled, he was already standing before Riley. Leaning slightly forward, he placed his hands on the armrests of the sofa on either side of her, enveloping her in a presence that was both strong and gentle.

His gaze lingered on her, voice low and smooth.
“In three days, I’ll be calling you Mrs. Torres, won’t +?”

The sudden intimacy of the address, accompanied by his warm breath, brought a soft flush to Riley’s cheeks. She looked up and met his eyes–all her prior calculations and defenses seemed to dissolve in that moment.
A gentle smile touched her lips as she nodded.
“Yes, Mr. Torres.”
The dull tone of the ended call lingered in Lucas‘ office. He still held the phone, but his frown deepened.
Riley had agreed too easily.
Far too easily–enough to tug at the strings of suspicion inside him.
The Riley he knew never backed down without a fight, especially not when she was being confined like this.
That calm, weary resignation didn’t feel like surrender. It felt more like she was hiding something.
His eyes darkened. He picked up the office line and issued a cold command. “Send two men over. Tell them it’s for dinner delivery and a security sweep. I want every corner of that villa checked.”
He needed to know what she was really up to.
Meanwhile, in Riley’s bedroom.
On the large screen, vibrant special effects erupted as game characters clashed. The sounds of intense combat filled the room.
Riley and Sebastian sat side by side on the plush carpet, fully engrossed, their fingers moving swiftly over the controllers.
The battle on screen grew fierce. Their characters were pushed into a tight corner, health bars nearly depleted.
But at the last possible moment, Sebastian’s character executed a perfect block, creating a narrow half–second opening for Riley.
She understood instantly. Without hesitation, she unleashed her fully charged special move.
A brilliant flash filled the screen, followed by the large, glowing gold letters, “VICTORY.”
