Sebastian spotted the glint of curiosity in her eyes, so he stopped walking and whispered, “Wanna head inside and hang out a while?”
“Sounds good,” Riley agreed readily.
They had just reached the doorway of a shop when a server in traditional attire stepped forward to block their path.
The server wore an apologetic smile and said gently, “I’m sorry, folks, we don’t welcome couples here.”
Riley froze on the spot. She followed the server’s line of sight and saw a small blackboard hung nearby. Casual writing marked it clearly–Singles Only.
Sebastian’s face darkened at once.
He figured out the place’s purpose right away. It was merely a spot for single people to meet up and flirt with one another.
Sebastian pressed his lips tightly together, and his usual mild vibe turned sharp and cold in the blink of an eye. Without a single extra word, he took Riley’s wrist and turned to leave, his tone firm and unnegotiable. “Not worth our time. Let’s go home.”
He kept walking in quick, hurried strides all the way back to the villa.
The moment they stepped inside and closed the door, Riley was still short of breath from rushing. Soft blush spread across her fair cheeks.
She leaned against the door frame and gazed at his stiff side face, yet she could not hold back her teasing words. She said in a playful, provocative tone, “Why are you in such a hurry? Afraid I’ll get attracted to all those single guys in there?”
Sebastian spun around. His tall frame towered over her, pinning her between his body and the door.
He admitted bluntly, “Yes.”
Then he changed his tone and emphasized seriously, “But you are not single anymore. You’re my wife.”
Before Riley could react in any way, he bent down swiftly. He slipped one arm under her legs and lifted her up easily in his arms, then headed straight for the bedroom.
The temperature in the room rose sharply all of a sudden.
Tonight, he intended to use his actions to make her keep her married identity firmly in mind.
They spent the whole night in each other’s company.
The next morning, Riley felt her whole body weak and sore. Even simple movements felt exhausting.
In contrast, Sebastian was fully refreshed and energetic.

Dressed in casual clothes, Sebastian stood by the window, fastening his watch band. The morning sunlight outlined his neat and straight figure, making him look full of vitality. He stood in total contrast to the sluggish Riley lying in bed.
Sensing her staring at him, Sebastian turned his head with a smile.

Riley Tabbed her aching waist, narrowed her eyes, and asked in a grumpy voice, “Sebastian, do you even know what fatigue feels like?”
After securing his watch, Sebastian strode over to the bed. He looked down at her, the smile in his eyes growing deeper. “I have no idea.”
He paused for a moment and drew out his tone on purpose. “But I saw how worn out you were last night, crystal clear.”
His words were filled with obvious hidden implications.
“You!” Riley was overcome with shyness and annoyance. She grabbed the pillow beside her and threw it hard right at him.
Sebastian dodged sideways effortlessly. The soft pillow landed silently on the carpet.
He leaned down right after that. His strong hands reached under the soft quilt and pulled her out completely. She had curled herself up in bed like a little kitten.
Sebastian said, “Didn’t we plan a trip? How can you stay in bed lazing around?”
I can’t back down in this little physical contest.
Riley let out a huff and forced her sore body to get up, then finish her morning routine alongside him.
Once they finished getting ready and walked out of the villa together, the sunshine was warm and pleasant. Gentle winds brushed past them, carrying fresh, sweet, floral scents that calmed the heart and mind.
She took a deep breath and felt herself fully energized again. She was just about to ask Sebastian about their upcoming schedule when her phone rang abruptly in her pocket.
Riley took out her phone, and it was Brandon calling once again
She said plainly, “What’s wrong this time?”
Brandon said in a helpless, pleading voice, “Ms. Harper, please help me.
