Riley smiled and slipped her hand into his palm. He pulled her to her feet and led her straight into the tent.

The interior space was larger than she had expected. The air mattress was fully inflated, looking soft and comfortable.

Sebastian sat down first to test its firmness, then patted the empty spot beside him and spoke to Riley, who still stood there. “Lie down and try it out, see if it holds steady.”

Riley took off her shoes and stepped onto the mattress cautiously. She felt the soft texture under her feet before sitting down gently. The bed supported her firmly, and she said, satisfied, “It’s pretty good, feels really stable.”

Yet Sebastian’s eyes stayed fixed on her feet for a long moment. He then stated, “Shift your body a little. I’m afraid it won’t stay sturdy enough for two people.”

Those plain words echoed loudly in the quiet tent, instantly bringing up all kinds of ambiguous thoughts in Riley’s mind.

Her face burned red at once, and she blurted out in a flustered voice, “We’re just camping outdoors! What are you even thinking? What if someone sees us and posts it online?”

Sebastian paused as he was about to stand up.

He turned his head slowly and looked at Riley, who kept dodging his gaze. He froze for a second, then playful teasing glinted

quickly in his eyes.

“Mrs. Torres…” Sebastian dragged out his tone on purpose, and the address he used was full of amusement. “What I was thinking is nothing like what you’ve got in your head.”

He cleared his throat and reasoned clearly, “This kind of self–inflating mattress stays steady under one person’s weight. But when two people lie on it, insufficient air or loose structure can make it tilt or cave in easily from uneven pressure, even without rough movements. I just wanted you to test its actual load–bearing effect ahead of time.”

His words were logical and flawless without any loopholes.

This only made Riley’s face turn even redder.

It was so obvious that she overthought everything just now.

She held her head high and tried to defend herself, “I… I didn’t mean that kind of thing anyway.”

“Oh, really?” Sebastian lifted his brows, and the smile on his lips grew wider. He was thoughtful enough not to tease her further, then stood up slowly and summed up casually. “Then whoever lets their mind wander too much can just reflect on themselves.”
