My dad’s waiting for me to bring back two bottles of ’82 Petrus to guard the house. If I’m even one minute late, he’ll strip every grapevine in the garden bare.”

She tugged at her hair in an awkward little gesture and let her gaze flicker over Sebastian and Riley one last time. Then she spun on her heel and walked out of the room without looking back.

Once she was gone, Colin drained his glass in one bitter gulp, like the wine was Audrey herself and he needed to crush it between his teeth. “Justin, I’m seriously starting to think you talk trash about me to Audrey every single day. Otherwise, why does she look at me like I murdered her dad? I’m the most gorgeous, charming bachelor in all of Nexopolis, and to her I’m a cockroach? That level of bias is insane!”
