Chapter 728 Making Them Apologize

Quentin froze.

So Theresa knew he’d scammed money from her, stolen her things, and had been aware of who he was all along… Yet, she had let him get away with it.

He stared into her eyes and felt like she had seen right through him, like she knew him inside. and out. For a moment, he didn’t know what to say.

Suddenly, a familiar voice cut through. “Isn’t that Quentin, that b*stard?”

Theresa looked up and saw a group of somewhat familiar people coming out of the airport exit in a big wave.

She couldn’t remember their names, but they looked vaguely familiar.

It seemed to be Quentin’s family–his grandmother, his siblings, and some others she had no memory of.

Quentin’s face changed instantly when he saw them. He stood up to leave, but two twelve- or thirteen–year–old twins blocked him.

“Where do you think you’re going, you b*stard? Running away, huh?”

Quentin’s expression darkened further at their words.

“What rotten luck, Grandma. We just got back, and we’ve already run into him. He probably tracked us down just to ask for money!” Someone sneered disdainfully.

Quentin’s grandmother spat. “Get lost, you filthy thing!”

Theresa heard their words and thought to herself, I should have blocked all these annoying people when I made my wish.

“Enough talking,” Theresa said.

Only then did they notice the young girl in pajamas and slippers standing beside Quentin. Seeing how plain she looked, they scoffed at her. “Who are you?”

“Doesn’t matter who I am,” Theresa said, raising her phone. “But everything you just said? I recorded it.”

“What are you going to do?” Jasper rushed forward, trying to grab her phone.

Theresa remained calm. “Aren’t you guys a respectable bunch? I’m sure you don’t want to be in

Jasper froze mid–action. “What do

you want?”

“Apologize to Quentin, and I won’t post it.”

The hot–headed Jasper and the twin boys started to curse, but one of the older women stopped them. “Enough. Let’s go.”

She clearly didn’t want to deal with Quentin. After all, the Kerr family had status, and Quentin’s behavior reflected poorly on them.

She led the group away, striding off decisively.

Theresa stopped them firmly. “Apologize!”

“Are you done? How dare you mess with the Kerr family, you little-”

“Enough!” Quentin’s grandmother cut in coldly. “It was our fault just now. We apologize!”

Her face was full of disdain. The rest of the people who had been cursing muttered reluctantly, “Sorry. Are you happy now?”

Theresa turned to Quentin, whose eyes were now entirely on her. “Is that okay?”

Quentin let out a chuckle. “Alright, leave them alone.”

At his words, the entire group looked frustrated but held back, leaving one by one. Jasper glared viciously at Theresa before leaving. “Delete it! If I see any videos of my family online, you’re finished!”

Theresa snorted, not fearing them at all.

She had survived blood–soaked chaos in the apocalypse, and nothing in this peaceful world could shake her.

Jasper snorted in return and left with the rest.

“Who exactly are you?” Quentin’s voice came from behind.

He smiled as he looked at her. “Why do you keep helping me? Have you taken a liking to me? Fallen for me at first sight?”

Theresa was somewhat speechless.
