Where Laughter Found Us
HANNAH’S POV:
Amelia gasped dramatically. “PANCAKES?!”
“Pancakes, fruit, and everything you like.” I announced as I recalled there was a private chef who we could snap our fingers and everything we desired would be served in a blink of an eyex
Amelia cheered and jumped up, accidentally dipping her hand in orange paint before touching Elijah’s shirt again
He sighed. “I am going to need a shower before I face civilization.”
I patted his knee. “Yes. Please do.”
He smirked. “Jealous that you’re not as stylish?”
I gave him a dry stare. “Absolutely. Nothing says fashion like sticky toddler paint.”
Andrew offered, “Mommy, we can paint you too!”
“Oh no,” I said quickly, standing up. “Mommy’s beauty is natural.”
Elijah burst out laughing.
We eventually moved everyone to the dining area. Breakfast smelled warm and comforting. The resort staff had set up tropical fruit, fluffy pancakes, eggs, pastries, and juice.
The twins attacked the food with both hands.
Elijah sat gingerly, occasionally pressing his side through his shirt. Although it was healed, I guess he was still feeling slight pain there as his reaction wasn’t like before.
“You okay?” I whispered, though I already knew what he would say and how he would react.
“I’m fine,” he murmured and smiled. “Just sore.”
I touched his arm gently. “Don’t overdo things today.”
