When Life Finally Smiled
HANNAH’S POV:
THREE DAYS LATER:
“No! No! No!” I screamed as I jolted up and I took in deep breaths.
“What’s going on? What happened? Are you okay?” Elijah wrapped his arms around me and asked in the space of
a second.
I glanced back at him and leaned on him which led to him to wrap his hands around me and pulled me closer to him. “It was just a dream, you’re okay.”
I let out a breathe and he caressed my head, wiped my tears I didn’t even know I had cried and when I finally let out a breath, feeling a lot better for over five minutes. I sat up straight pulling myself away from his comforting arms and he gently let go.
“Is this your first time having such a nightmare?” He asked quietly, using his thumb to gently caress my hands and I nodded slowly.
“Now,
I feel like a bad omen or something.” He said with finality and I found myself smiling.
We had been sleeping in the same room for the past few days since the proposal and I had never been happier with life. The company was thriving, the kids were happy..more than I had ever seen them, my friends were happy with their lives. Martin and Lucas were growing together and they loved being around us and spoiling the twins.
“Do you want to talk about it?” He asked, as I leaned on his chest again and he held me like a baby.
And although I wanted to talk to him about the dream with him, I could not muster the courage to say what I dreamt about, I mean how could I tell him that I dreamt we had taken the kids out to get ice-cream and suddenly I saw Janet, come for nowhere stabbing them repeatedly and I screamed then she smiled at me mischievously with their bloods on her face, hands and it was scariest sight.
I was so happy with life, I was so glad that I had heard no word from her but I was starting to think and wonder if that was a good thing or a bad thing.
So I just said, “I don’t even really remember. I’m sure it was something about monsters. Let’s just go back to bed.”
He laughed out loud after a moment of just staring at me and pointed out, “Okay, beautiful. Come closer, I will protect you from any sort of monster.”
I laughed thinking about how childish monsters sounded and moved closer to him and we stared at each other with our foreheads touching and he kissed the top of my head, “You will really protect me from any monster.”
