HANNAH’S POV:
The day flew by in a blur of meetings and emails. Work was booming. Our next collection was already in demand before we even finalized half the designs. I felt alive again, truly alive but then again, I was just tired.
By late afternoon, my phone buzzed and I glanced at it seeing it was Elijah texting and he pointed our
“I’m at the office. Security’s tight today because of the board audit. Meet me here and we’ll go together to the theatre.”
I smiled at the screen and told him it was no problem and warned him not to keep me waiting and he texted a ‘yes ma’am’ along with a laughing emoji with a heart emoji in response.
“You two are always on your phones and smiling. Do you two care what’s going on with me?” Maya asked angrily and it was then it dawned on me that I was seated with both her and love sick Lucas, having cookies and coffee since we were on break.
“Of course we care about you. Is everything okay? Are you good?” I quickly set my phone to the side inquired, holding her hands from across the table.
“Lucas, can you stop giggling and focus on me? I mean, isn’t the honeymoon stage over?” She asked and both Lucas and I glanced at each other and laughed.
“No, sweetheart. Everyday here is the honeymoon phase. But you have all my attention, who isn’t treating you right?” He asked, placing his phone on the table and she rolled her eyes dramatically.
“On the contrary, I’m getting treated right, but I don’t think you’re going to like who it is, since he is not a billionaire or career man like you two’s partners.” She pointed out.
