The Unwanted Wife's Return (Ex-Husband Wants Me Back) novel Chapter 137

Tied to the Truth

HANNAH’S POV:

She nodded at my father. He reached into his pocket, and my heart nearly stopped.

“What are you doing?” I demanded, panic clawing viciously at my chest. “What are you getting?”

My father stepped forward, his hand emerging with what looked like a cloth. “We’re relocating you,’ he said with complete indifference, like he was discussing moving furniture.

My breath hitched. “Relocating where? What does that mean?”

“Somewhere secure,” he said simply. “Somewhere you’ll never find help. Somewhere you can’t cause any more problems for our family.”

Janet’s smile widened, showing all her teeth. “And somewhere Elijah will never reach in time. If he even bothers looking for you at all.”

But then Janet paused, turning back to my parents. “Wait, is the location secured yet? The person I hired said it might not be ready until tomorrow. We can’t risk moving her if there’s any chance of being seen.”

My mother sucked her teeth sharply, clearly annoyed. “Fine. We’ll wait. But we’re not staying here with her all night.”

They turned toward the door, and desperation made me reckless.

“Wait!” I screamed, my voice echoing off the walls. “You can’t do this! I have children! They need me! Amelia and Andrew need their mother!”

That made Janet pause. She turned back, and the look on her face made my blood run cold. Then she laughed, a high, cruel sound.

“Girl, I promise you, no one needs you,” she said, enunciating each word clearly. “You are freaking useless. The kids will be fine. Elijah will move on. Your stupid friends will forget about you. No one actually needs you. You’ve always been replaceable.”
