TWO DAYS AFTER:
I jolted up as soon as I heard my phone ringing and without checking the caller ID, I answered, “Hello? Is there any news?”
“Good day, this is from the Lover’s Party Creates, my name is Lina and I was contacted a few days ago to organize your forth coming wedding, but I have been unable to contact your wife. Would you still be needing our services?” The lady softly inquired on the other line and disappointment ran through my veins.
I was hoping it was a call from my godfather with an update on Hannah’s location, or a call from even Janet telling on herself. I just needed to hear Hannah’s voice and know if she was alive or not, how she was, where she was, what she needed. It was breaking my heart everyday of not hearing from her.
I clenched and unclenched my jaw, trying my best not to break down as I said, “Not right now.”
The phone slipped down my ear and fell onto the couch where I had passed down on. I doubt I had been able to sleep a wink since after the kidnapping. When I arrived back home that day, and told the kids all that was happening softening the blow by saying:
“Some bad people have taken Mummy, and that’s why we weren’t there tonight. And I’m so sorry, but I promise Mummy will return back to us safely.”
They weren’t two anymore so they had a ton of questions and I was so thankful my parents and Lucas came with me despite the fact that I asked them not to.
Andrew frowned deeply and asked, “Who are the bad people? Who took my mummy? Don’t lie to us, is she still alive? Would we ever see her again?”
I just placed my head in my palm and broke into tears at the crack of his voice at the last question. While my parents and Lucas tried to assure them, I was taken aback when I felt them hold me and embrace me and we all sobbed together.
“Mummy will come back to us. I believe.” Amelia said trying to assure me while sobbing and I nodded frantically.
