Surrounded by Love
HANNAH’S POV:
He paused, swallowing hard. “And I promise to love you loudly and openly and proudly, every single day for the rest of my life. No more hiding. No more walls. Just us, loving each other the way we deserve.”
I was already crying hard when it became my turn to speak my vows.
“I promise,” I said, my voice shaking but steady enough, “to choose you intentionally every single day, even on the days when we’re tired or scared or hurt or broken. I promise to grow with you as we change and evolve. I promise to build this life with you, brick by brick. And I promise to love you with the kind of love that never falters, never wavers, never gives up. The kind of love that lasts forever.”
When the officiant finally smiled warmly at both of us and said those magic words, “You may now kiss your bride,” the applause that erupted was absolutely thunderous.
The sound echoed off the high ceilings, bouncing around the historic church.
Elijah didn’t hesitate for even a second. He kissed me like a man who had waited multiple lifetimes for exactly this moment, even though he’d technically already stolen a kiss earlier this morning when he’d snuck into my suite.
This kiss was different though. This one was a promise, a beginning and a big celebration.
Cheers and whistles erupted from our guests. The twins were whooping and clapping enthusiastically. Lucas screamed something that was definitely inappropriate for a church but made everyone laugh anyway.
